Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, it is argued that in many countries people do not recycle their waste materials properly. This is because people are becoming lazy day by day and they do not think this is nexessary anymore. There are several reasons why thus is happening and to overcome this matter goverment must play an important role to address this issue. This essay will discuss about effective ways to overcome this issue.

On the one hand, in recent years, people are becoming less creative as they think this issue as a common factor. This is happening because people only choose easy and less creative ideas nowadays to make their life easier. For example, people need easy and convinient lives that they always prefer to buy fast food and packaging foods. The food they ordered was full of packaging like foods are covered with plastics. It increases lot of garbages in a local area, whereas they use to throw garbages anywhere. This can leads to a big issue. Another main reason could be increasing trash and unresponsible behaviour of people is destroying our enviromemt and also increases pollution in the enviroment. This can be result as a major health issue in the future

On the other hand, to overcome this issue goverment must implement strict rules on people who use to misbehave to manage their waste materials properly. And another sollution can be to change peoples' attitudes towards trash management. For example, people must follow goverment rules and regulations to make enviroment clean and habbitable. Moreover, we should focus to improve our enviroment by making it clean and manageing wastes properly.

In conclusion, this issue has many negative impacts in enviroment as well as this issue was mainly caused by bad habbits of people. To overcome this issue we must follow goverment rules and make our sorroundings clean and nate not only once but also try to make good enviroment everyday.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both parts of the question: you suggest that convenience and careless habits contribute to low recycling, and propose government rules and changes in public attitudes. The examples about takeaway packaging and litter are relevant. However, the explanation of why people fail to recycle remains limited: the essay does not clearly explain practical barriers such as inadequate facilities, confusing sorting rules, or lack of awareness. The proposed solutions are also general; for instance, “implement strict rules” is not supported with details about enforcement or incentives. Your position is understandable, but the opening and conclusion repeat broad claims rather than developing a clear, specific argument. Explain each cause and connect it directly to a workable response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” signal a change in focus. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear. The first body paragraph mixes convenience, packaging, litter and pollution without showing how each point relates specifically to recycling. Some linking is repetitive or mechanical, including repeated use of “This issue” and “For example.” The contrast signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” is also not quite accurate, since the paragraphs present causes and solutions rather than opposing views. Group each cause and its explanation together, then organise the solutions in a clear sequence with more precise referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “waste materials,” “packaging,” “pollution,” and “rules and regulations,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “less creative” does not express the likely idea of being unwilling to make an effort, and “misbehave to manage their waste” is an awkward way to describe improper disposal. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “nexessary,” “goverment,” “enviroment,” and “sorroundings.” Aim for precise recycling-related terms and check spelling carefully. For example, “sort household waste” and “dispose of rubbish responsibly” would express your points more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “whereas,” and “that.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty; errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “This can leads to a big issue” has incorrect verb form, while “This can be result as a major health issue” has an incomplete and unclear construction. There are also problems with agreement and sentence structure in “increasing trash and unresponsible behaviour … is destroying … and also increases.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, checking subject–verb agreement and modal patterns such as “can lead to.” Use punctuation to separate complete ideas rather than joining them loosely.
