Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response makes an attempt to discuss the issue and offer solutions, but it does not answer the question accurately or develop its ideas sufficiently. The task asks why people fail to recycle and how this can be changed; instead, the essay mainly describes the harmful effects of rubbish and refers to “the menace of recycling,” which reverses the intended meaning. Education and government action are relevant possible solutions, but the explanation of how these would increase recycling remains vague. For example, “defining meaning of waste” and “handle to policies” do not clearly identify practical measures. To strengthen the response, explain specific reasons for low recycling, such as limited facilities or lack of awareness, then develop realistic solutions linked directly to those causes.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion. It also uses basic linking expressions such as “For example,” “However,” “In addition,” and “In conclusion,” which help signal stages in the response. However, there is no clear progression from the causes of low recycling to solutions: the first body paragraph discusses rubbish’s effects, while the next shifts to education and government action. Some connections are difficult to follow, particularly “This is also good approach because with awareness of recycling people understand morei this topic.” The conclusion introduces further ideas about policies and individual responsibility rather than clearly summarising the argument. Organise the body around the two parts of the question and make each sentence’s relationship to the previous one explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response attempts topic-related vocabulary, including “rubbish,” “plastic waste,” “harmful effects,” “education,” and “environmental,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make meaning unclear. Examples include “garbadge,” “harful,” “Eduction,” and “stricker,” as well as the confusing phrase “the menace of recycling,” which appears to mean the problem of inadequate recycling. Phrases such as “handle to policies” and “cust this issue” are not natural or precise in this context. Build a more accurate set of terms for the task—such as recycling facilities, public awareness, collection services and incentives—and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There is some variety in sentence forms, including a concession structure (“Although rubbish…”) and a conditional purpose clause (“so that they can…”). Basic meaning is sometimes recoverable, but frequent errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms make several sentences difficult to understand. For example, “Recycling is become” has an incorrect verb form, and “The best approach … are” has faulty subject–verb agreement. The opening fragment beginning “Although” is not joined to a complete main clause, while “The second effect is directly impacts” combines incompatible structures. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention, as in “a serious problem” and the run-on spacing around “ways.This.” Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then check verb forms and agreement.
