Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries, people do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could and that back to different reasons.
Different reasons make societies do not recycle their rubbish, there are government reasons and public reasons. Firstly, some governments dont think in recycling and they havent the materials like machines and specific rubbish to separate different content of rubbish, for example paper rubbish and plastic rubbish. Also, some governments didn't find the employment who work in recycling machines. Secondly, the public reason is more difficult, because some societies they dont believe in recycling projects and some opinions say are not healthy, and they say that the recycled products can cause many diseases. Moreover, people does not respect the rubbish order, for example they dont throw paper and plastic in their specific place in the rubbish. Furthermore, people hate working in jobs like recycling machines because they think it may cause diseases like eyes problems, and the machines can cause some smell problems.
In other side, i think that people should think again about the recycling and learn how it's the method of recycling, and should learn that the recycled machines work. Also, people should respect the order of rubbish and throws products on their ordering, such as the plastic in the plastic box, and the paper in the papers box. Moreover, government should also make facilities to the community like many boxes in the rubbish and help people to order the rubbish, also they must buy new machines clean the recycling products very good to avoide health problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that limited government facilities and public concerns about health discourage recycling, then propose education, better sorting facilities and new machines. These are relevant causes and solutions, but several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, the claim that recycled products cause disease is reported without clarifying why people believe it or how this affects participation. The solutions also need more detail about who would deliver education and how facilities would improve recycling. Your response contains 244 words, so it is 6 words below the required minimum; the 14 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. This shortfall, together with the limited development of ideas, means the task is only partially addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure: it introduces the issue, gives reasons, and then turns to possible solutions. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” help signal the sequence of points. However, the progression within paragraphs is not always clear, and several ideas are added in a list-like way rather than connected through explanation. “In other side” does not clearly mark the shift to solutions, while repeated references to “rubbish” and “recycling” make the writing feel repetitive. Some sentences also contain unclear references, such as “they” in “some societies they don’t believe.” Grouping related causes and solutions and using clearer links between claim, reason and example would improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “recycling,” “machines,” “diseases,” and “facilities.” There are also attempts to express specific concepts, such as separating paper and plastic and providing boxes for different materials. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “specific rubbish to separate different content of rubbish” and “respect the rubbish order” are difficult to interpret precisely. Spelling errors such as “avoide” and informal forms such as “dont” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use more precise recycling terms and check spelling and collocations; the suggestions below offer alternatives drawn from your response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including sentences with reasons and examples, but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction, and some make the reader work to understand the point. For instance, “Different reasons make societies do not recycle” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “people does not respect” has subject–verb disagreement. In “some societies they don’t believe,” the sentence structure is also faulty, and “government should also make facilities” is missing an article or plural form. Most sentences rely on basic patterns, so the response shows limited grammatical range. Practise accurate clause structures and check each sentence for a clear subject, correctly formed verb and appropriate articles.
