Student answer (Band 5.5)

The raising incident of people do not recycling their rubbish in many countries has become significant concern in contemporary World. I endorse the notion that people are not recycling their litter which is a threat to our environment. This essay will explore the root causes of the problem and practical measurements to address the issue effectively.

To commence with, lack of resources can leads towards throwing the waste and not recycling that. Lack of sense of responsibility in citizens also allow them to do less for their country. Furthermore, lack of awareness is also another major reason of why people does not use their trash for recycling. For instance, on tourist spots people normally throw their useless stuff randomly due to lack of acknowledgement instead of using recycling bins which is also causing soil pollution. Excessive use of Plastic is erupting environment because it is harmful for the society and environment, it also cause cancerous chemicals.

However, recycling is very beneficial and effective way of reducing pollution by installing recycling bins. Government should start campaigns for spreading awareness and acknowledgement for their well being. Other then that, polythene bags and other plastic stuff that is replaceable should be banned permanently and replaced it with eco-friendly stuff. Non-recycled stuff can be used in very productive way For example, in decoration; Polythene bags can make beautiful flowers and in plastic bottles we can grow plants. It totally depends on persons productive that how productive they are and how they use already existing undegradable plastic and other stuff.

In conclusion, people and government can work in team to protect environment by recycling. campaigns and advertisements can also be beneficial for improving recycling programs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question by identifying causes—limited recycling facilities, low responsibility and awareness—and suggesting responses such as installing bins, running campaigns and restricting plastic bags. The examples about litter at tourist sites and reusing bottles to grow plants make the discussion relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the link between plastic use and cancer is not developed, and the reuse examples do not clearly explain how they would increase recycling rates. To strengthen the response, explain how each proposed measure would change people’s behaviour and develop fewer ideas in more detail, while keeping the focus on why recycling is neglected and how to improve it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on solutions and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Furthermore” and “However” help signal the stages of the discussion. At times, though, the links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. The paragraph beginning “However” moves from recycling bins to plastic bans and then to craft reuse without showing how these measures connect. The final sentence about people’s “productive” use of plastic is also difficult to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports; more precise referencing would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “recycling bins,” “soil pollution,” “eco-friendly” and “campaigns,” and you attempt less common expressions such as “root causes.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “raising incident,” “practical measurements,” “lack of acknowledgement” and “persons productive.” There is also repetition of “lack of” and “environment,” and “stuff” is too informal and vague for this essay. Choose more precise terms and check collocations and word forms. For example, describe a “rise in the amount of waste that is not recycled” and refer to “public awareness” rather than “acknowledgement.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause in “due to lack of acknowledgement” and a relative clause in “stuff that is replaceable.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. For example, “lack of resources can leads” should use the base verb after “can,” while “people does not use” needs subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “Excessive use of Plastic” joins several ideas with a comma, and “replaced it with” does not fit the plural subject. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and separate complete ideas with appropriate punctuation.
