Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's rapidly involving world the issue of recycling the waste has been rapidly increasing throughout the world, because it affects both the individuals and society. In some countries, individuals do not recycle their garbage or waste as much as they could. I believe that this is the responsibility of the individuals but providing proper facilities by government is essential for the development or growth of the nation and society.

There are so many reasons why people doing this but, the major reason is inappropriate facilities for recycling. For example, there is no proper disposing system outside the schools, colleges and public places where people can recycle their rubbish. Another reason is lack of education because, persons do not know how to dispose or recycle their garbage.

On the other hand, providing appropriate facilities by the government is very crucial for recycling waste. For example, proper disposal system is arranged outside the colleges, parks and public areas by governments. Posters may be used with printing cautions by official bodies. Education is very important so government must provide education to public. In addition, help of international bodies is also very important for the development and growth of the nation so with the help of these officials proper technology system is used to recycle waste or decrease the pollution in the society.

In conclusion, although it is the responsibility of the individuals but proper facilities given by the government is more essential for the proper recycling of waste. Government with the help of international bodies make policies to protect the nation and provide appropriate recycling system.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the question: it identifies inadequate recycling facilities and limited public education as reasons, then proposes government-provided disposal systems, posters, education, and international support. Your position—that individual responsibility matters but government facilities are essential—is clear, especially in the introduction and conclusion. These ideas are relevant, but some are not fully explained. For instance, you mention that people may not know how to recycle, but do not show what information or practical guidance would help them. The role of international bodies and “proper technology” is also introduced without a specific explanation or example. Develop each main point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a concrete example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from reasons to possible action is generally easy to follow, and phrases such as “For example” and “In addition” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some linking is mechanical, and the opening sentence repeats “rapidly” and introduces broad claims before the essay’s main focus. The transition “On the other hand” does not clearly mark a contrast, since the next paragraph presents solutions rather than an opposing view. Some references, such as “these officials,” are unclear. Use more precise transitions and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “disposal system,” “public areas,” “pollution,” and “policies.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, and some choices show an attempt to discuss the issue in a formal way. However, several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “proper facilities,” “development or growth,” and repeated references to “garbage or waste.” There are also awkward word choices and collocations, including “rapidly involving world” and “printing cautions,” which make parts of the response less natural. Aim for more precise terms and avoid repeating the same general expressions; for example, distinguish between collection points, sorting facilities, and public recycling guidance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, such as “although it is the responsibility of the individuals but proper facilities given by the government is more essential.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “people doing this,” “proper facilities … is,” and “Government … make policies.” Commas also interrupt clauses in places, as in “because, persons do not know.” These issues show that complex ideas are being attempted, but control is not consistent. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses and check that subjects agree with verbs; for example, “the government provides facilities” and “people do not recycle because they lack information.”
