Student answer (Band 5.5)

In contemporary society, waste is become an major issue in every country. People in many countries do not recycle their garbage upto some extend because people are not aware as well as they do not know their responsibility regarding nature, they think that's government who going to do it.

On the one hand, authorities should take action on this issue. Government should provide a appropriate measures regarding wastes, provision of bins in the public places and awarness. For instance, the all citizens should be aware about the ailments that are rising due to waste on roadside because it results in growth of mosquitoes, flies. Its a responsiblity of individuals of society to take care of the environment.

Additionally, the establishment of bins are essential according to the waste management which are organic, garbage and recycle. Policymakers should punish people who throw the garbage anywhere on the road and take a strict action against them like punishments like collect of that waste or high fine should be implemented. Waste should be throw in the right bin. Authorities should provide knowledge about waste and diseases such as malaria, dengue etc which may arise due to that. Stagnant water alse removed from pots, pits.

In conclusion, from my perspective I think waste should be recycled because its a vital for human progress and development of the nation; its pivotal yo remove plastic as it causes harm to the ecosystem and the earth. Moreover, it make nature pollution free and plastic free as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you suggest that people lack awareness and responsibility, then propose public bins, education, and penalties. The examples of mosquitoes, flies, malaria, and dengue make the environmental and health concerns relevant. However, the explanation of why recycling is limited remains brief, and the claim that people expect the government to act is not explored. Several proposed measures focus on litter and disease rather than explaining how to increase recycling specifically; for example, the types of bins are mentioned but not how they would help people sort recyclable materials. Develop the causes and connect each solution more directly to recycling, with a clear example of how it could work.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to proposed actions and then a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” help signal stages in the argument. However, the progression is not always clear: the first body paragraph combines government action, bins, public awareness, and individual responsibility, while the next repeats bins and awareness before shifting to penalties. Some connections between ideas are unclear, particularly the move from waste sorting to stagnant water. Organise the body around distinct points—causes first, then solutions—and use references that make relationships explicit, so the reader can follow how each measure addresses the stated problem.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “waste management,” “organic,” “recycle,” “ecosystem,” and “pollution free,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “pivotal” and “provision.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the issue. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear: “waste is become,” “upto some extend,” “the establishment of bins,” and “collect of that waste” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “awarness,” “responsiblity,” and “alse” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of common environmental collocations and check spelling and word forms when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause in “which may arise due to that.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer constructions. Examples include “waste is become,” “Government should provide a appropriate measures,” and “they think that's government who going to do it.” Agreement and sentence structure are also problematic in “the establishment of bins are essential” and “it make nature pollution free.” These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly structured clause.
