Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both questions to some extent: it identifies limited public awareness and inadequate guidance as reasons for low recycling, and suggests educating people and creating government policies. The examples about reusing wrappers and recycling study books are relevant, but they are difficult to follow and are not developed into clear explanations of how they would increase recycling. The proposed actions also remain general; for instance, “aware the people” does not specify who should provide information or how. The position is therefore only partly clear, and the main ideas need fuller explanation and support. To strengthen the response, explain each cause and solution directly, then show how a specific measure could change people’s behaviour.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is some attempt to move from causes to possible solutions, and phrases such as “so” and “Through the process of recycling” signal relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the reasons from the proposed actions. Ideas also repeat or shift abruptly: public awareness is mentioned several times, followed by pollution, personal experience, reuse, and government policy without a clear progression. Some links are unclear, as in “I have not a proper solution but i have a an idea.” Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, organise each around one main point, and use clear references and transitions to show how examples support that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a small set of relevant topic words, including “recycle,” “rubbish,” “environment,” “polluted,” and “expenses,” so the general subject is usually recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word choices or forms make meaning difficult to understand, such as “Rubbish are also stretch in street,” “recylingbin,” and “the useful of recycling.” Spelling errors, including “countryies,” “mush,” “disceases,” and “wich,” further reduce clarity. Aim to use accurate, natural phrases for the topic and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, “rubbish is strewn in the streets” and “the benefits of recycling” would express the intended ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “If it can be recycle than we will because it help us to saves our lot of budget,” but these attempts are often faulty and make the meaning hard to follow. Errors occur in basic sentence patterns, agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation: “Rubbish are,” “they do not aware,” and “it help us” are examples. Sentence boundaries are also unclear, with full stops and capital letters used inconsistently. Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and the longer structures are not controlled reliably. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine related ideas using “because,” “if,” or “which,” checking that subjects and verbs agree.
