Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays it is often debated that the people are not making much efforts to recycle their trash as much as it is needed. In my opinion there is a lack of public awareness regarding the significance of recycling process. To resolve this issue government and social workers should start public compaigns and acknowlegde people about its impact on environment.

In today's world, many developed nations putting a lot of efforts in terms of spreading awareness among population and also allocating funds to reuse clothes, shoes, bags with the help of recycling machines. Contrary to this, there are many countries which are still under developing are not participation in this compaign due to deficiency resources and knowledge. They are not able to fulfill the basic needs of their communities and neglecting the impact of recycling on environment, due to this these nations are becoming major source of environmental pollution and creating threat globallly.

To combat this issue, international organisations should play their role by starting compaigns to acknowledge the general population about the significance of recyling also rich countries

help the poorer ones financialy to estabalish the recycling plants where things such as clothes, bags, glass products can be process to reuse. Also strict measures should be taken to halt the use and synthesis of plastic bags. For this purpose there should be some lagislation against those who doesnot follow rules.

In conclusion, international measures, educating people and strict implimentation of law ounder developed areas

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you identify limited public awareness and lack of resources as reasons, then suggest campaigns, financial support for poorer countries, recycling plants, and laws restricting plastic bags. These are relevant responses, but several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, you say developing countries neglect recycling because they cannot meet basic needs, but do not show how this leads people to avoid sorting rubbish. The proposed campaigns and legislation would be stronger with a specific example or explanation of how they would change everyday behaviour. The conclusion is incomplete and does not clearly restate your answer. The response is also seven words below the required minimum, so it does not fully meet the task’s length requirement; develop the ideas further rather than adding a brief closing fragment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly where the discussion moves from developed nations’ recycling efforts to poorer countries’ resource shortages and pollution. Linking phrases such as “Contrary to this” and “To combat this issue” are useful, but some connections are mechanical or do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. The final sentence is unfinished, which weakens the overall progression and leaves the conclusion without a complete message. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each explanation directly to the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “public awareness,” “recycling plants,” “environmental pollution,” and “strict measures,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “allocate funds” and “combat this issue.” However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes distract the reader: examples include “compaigns,” “acknowlegde,” “recyling,” and “financialy.” Some word combinations are also unnatural, such as “acknowledge the general population about” and “synthesis of plastic bags.” Choose more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. A wider, more accurately controlled range would help you express the causes and proposed actions with greater clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “They are not able to fulfill the basic needs … and neglecting the impact,” and a conditional-style proposal beginning “For this purpose.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “many developed nations putting” needs a finite verb, while “countries which are still under developing are not participation” has problems with clause structure and verb form. There are also agreement and article errors, as in “those who doesnot follow rules.” The final sentence is grammatically incomplete. Practise building complete clauses with accurate subject–verb agreement, and proofread punctuation and sentence endings.
