Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify one relevant reason—people’s limited understanding of recycling—and suggest government action and public education. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the explanation that people are unaware of environmental and health effects is brief, and the asthma example does not clearly show how inadequate recycling causes the stated harm. The proposed measures are also general; for instance, you mention campaigns and monitoring but do not explain what these would involve or how they would increase recycling. The response is below the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to answer both questions fully. Add further distinct causes and explain each solution with a specific example or practical detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about a cause, and a paragraph proposing solutions. This helps the reader recognise the two parts of the task, and phrases such as “One of the main causes” and “One of the most effective way” signal the direction of each paragraph. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are placed together without clear links. The final paragraph also breaks off at “If necessary. I these,” leaving the ending incomplete and disrupting the overall flow. Develop each main point in a separate, complete sequence—claim, explanation, and example—and use linking expressions to show how the details relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “recycling,” “public awareness campaigns,” “long term consequences,” and “implemented.” These choices show some ability to discuss causes and policy. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts difficult to understand, such as “revelent,” “tracle,” “isuue,” and “moniter.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “effects on surrounding” and “a contribution of governement action” do not express the intended meaning clearly. Build a more accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. Prefer precise phrases such as “environmental impact,” “government intervention,” and “raise public awareness,” and ensure each word fits its grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including “People are unaware…” and a sentence beginning “At the same time,” which shows an attempt to connect related ideas. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “how it will helps,” where the verb form is incorrect, and “campaigns should ne launched educate people,” where the passive construction and infinitive pattern are incomplete. The sentence beginning “If necessary” is also left unfinished. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and a full stop separating an incomplete clause. Practise complete sentence patterns and check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
