Student answer (Band 5.5)
In numerous countries, a large share of household waste is thrown away rather than recycling it.In this eassy i will discuss different aspects and points related to recycling the trash rather than just throwing it. Since mostly people dont know that when plastic or other grabage deteriorates then chemical polutants from plastics mixes with air and makes airbourn particulate matter which are injurious for human body and it can cause serious problems. Mostly people dont recycle the household rubbish i think its due to the fact that people dont have enough time for this or people arent aware of the problems which can occur from the remains of garbage. This habit of not recycling trash by people can be change by applying different strategies like ,awareness program should be held related to this by Government ,different offers by different brands can be done like clothing brand should use the strategy of recycling shopping bags by giving their customers discounts on cloths whoever recycles shopping bags after the use will get discounts on different products. Government should also play an important role in this by placing machine in every street which gives cash in return of plastic trash, this will make huge difference and people mindset changes because they will now get money for recycling there daily household garbabge and as a result there will be decrease in airbourne pollutants which was due to the remains of the garbage

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that limited awareness and lack of time explain low recycling, then propose public education, brand discounts and cash-return machines. These are relevant ideas, but they are only briefly explained. For example, the claim that people lack time is not supported with a specific explanation, and the awareness point focuses on pollution without showing how an awareness campaign would change behaviour. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, which limits the opportunity to develop and support your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain each cause and show how each proposed measure would work in practice, using a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall sequence: it introduces the topic, gives possible reasons, and then presents solutions. Linking expressions such as “Since,” “Mostly,” and “as a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the organisation is difficult to follow because the writing is presented as one continuous block, with no clear paragraphing, and several ideas are crowded into long sentences. The opening also promises to discuss “different aspects and points” rather than clearly previewing the causes and solutions. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, reasons, and measures, and connect each point with clear references so the reader can follow the progression without relying on repeated transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “household waste,” “chemical pollutants,” “particulate matter,” “recycling,” and “discounts.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and some choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “recycling the trash rather than just throwing it” and “remains of garbage.” Spelling errors, including “eassy,” “grabage,” “polutants,” and “airbourn,” also reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Aim for more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, use “waste disposal” or “recycling household waste” consistently, and choose specific terms for the proposed incentives and collection systems.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentences, particularly when explaining pollution and describing the effects of recycling, but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence patterns and in longer clauses: “people dont know that … pollutants … mixes” has subject–verb disagreement, while “This habit … can be change” uses an incorrect verb form. The final sentence also joins several ideas with “and” without clear punctuation, making the structure hard to process. There is limited evidence of reliably accurate sentence construction, and these recurring errors sometimes affect clarity. Practise forming shorter, complete sentences first, then build complex sentences with accurate agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation.
