Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, our planet Earth faces a lot of challenges including water issues, polluction, deforestation and many more which causes environmental challenges like extreme weather conditions.
To begin with ,one of the main reasons is that people do not recycle their rubbish waster as much as they could especially in third world countires. This is because do you limited number of resources and awarness. For example, if we see they burn old tyres, plastic bags and bottle which is very common practice. Also many local industry dumping their polluted waste in rivers .Therefore, it is clear that how much it affecting our ecosystem while doing this rubbish activites.
Furthermore, another important point to be consider is why this thing happened here , one factor is our government who don't pass any recycling laws .In other words, they don't take it series. which can lead to a huge environmental issue. Consequently, i feel like there are many international organizations working on this recycling issue. They should guide third world countires like us and take action with local governments to implement recycling laws , and make it compulsory for every citizen to recycle their rubbish waste.
In conclusion, although it still need a lot of time and effects to implement this recycling process. I believe that, we should run this awarness campaign on micro level , just start with our own socities. For example, we should promote recycle process by giving them any cash or credit rewards inexchange of plastic bottles, pastic bags etc. Also we should promote usage of paper or clothes bag instead of plastic ones as it can be seen a common thing in rising nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you suggest limited resources and awareness as reasons for low recycling, and propose government laws, guidance from international organisations, campaigns, and rewards. These are relevant responses and your position—that action is needed at both government and community level—is apparent. However, some points are more fully addressed than others. The explanation of limited resources is difficult to follow, and the examples of burning tyres and dumping industrial waste describe pollution more broadly rather than clearly explaining why household recycling is low. Your proposed measures are promising, but you could explain how laws or rewards would change people’s everyday behaviour. Develop each cause and solution with a clearer link to the question and a specific supporting example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs discussing causes and government action, and a conclusion with community-level suggestions. Sequencing words such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Furthermore” introduces another reason without clearly distinguishing it from the previous point, while “Consequently” does not make the relationship between international organisations and the preceding claim fully clear. The second paragraph also combines government inaction with proposed action, so the progression from causes to solutions becomes blurred. Use topic sentences to identify each paragraph’s purpose, and make pronouns and linking phrases refer clearly to the ideas they connect.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “deforestation,” “ecosystem,” “recycling laws,” “compulsory,” and “environmental issue.” This gives you some range beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “polluction,” “countires,” “awarness,” and “series” where “seriously” is intended. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “rubbish waster,” “rubbish activities,” and “promote recycle process.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions such as “household waste,” “raise public awareness,” and “introduce recycling regulations” would make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “while,” and “although,” and most of the argument remains understandable. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms, and punctuation recur. For instance, “which causes environmental challenges” does not agree with the plural “challenges” in the preceding list, and “one of the main reasons is that people do not recycle … waster” contains a faulty clause. “Also many local industry dumping” lacks a correctly formed verb, while “although it still need” has an agreement error. Commas and full stops are also inconsistently placed, creating fragments such as “which can lead to a huge environmental issue.” Practise checking each sentence for a complete subject and verb, then review agreement and punctuation.
