Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries, its been identified that people do not recycle the waste as much as needed, which can lead to more garbage and pollution. Also this leads to health issues and water pollution in some jurisdictions. To change this we can take inspiration and ideas from neighboring countries where waste recycling is successfully implemented. For example, India is one of the countries where waste management is being used effectively to reuse and recycle in many areas of farming where its been used as a fertilizers to grow the new plants which saves the money of buying artificail fertilizers and use the natural waste of Fruits, Vegetables, Teas leaves etc. Which also helps in managing pollution and various health diseases. Also recyvcle of plasstic and can bottle, new paper and ols books paper effectively recycles to make new products. Inconclusion various successful recycle techniques are being used for different purposes which can be used by other countries where recycling not happening currently and can take help from those countries or they can make similar plants and recyclke factories to implements thosewith lessor resources. Recycling of natural products is very essential at the currect stage where buring the rubbish m,aterila leads to various pollution and environmental issues which wilaffect the next generation of the country. Hence protecting the natural resources and recycling is the step which needs to be implemented to avoid various issues in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the proposed solution by recommending that countries learn from successful recycling systems, with India as an example, and you mention benefits such as reducing pollution and reusing organic waste. However, the task asks both why people recycle less than they could and what can be done. The response gives almost no explanation of the causes, so it only partially answers the question. The solutions are also broad: “make similar plants and recycle factories” is not explained in terms of who should provide them or how they would encourage households. The response is 15 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both parts. Add specific causes, such as inconvenient collection or low public awareness, and explain practical measures in more detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a general movement from the problem to possible solutions and then to a concluding point about environmental protection. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “Also,” and “Hence” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the causes, solutions, and conclusion. Several sentences are overloaded with multiple points, and the example about farming, plastic, cans, and paper shifts quickly without clear connections. Some transitions, including “Also,” are repeated or do not make the relationship precise. Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and organise each around one main idea supported by a clear example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “waste management,” “recycle,” “pollution,” “natural resources,” and “fertilizers,” which makes the subject clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “recycling techniques” and “environmental issues.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “artificail,” “recyvcle,” “ols books paper,” and “lessor resources.” Phrases such as “recycling of natural products” and “recycle factories” do not express the intended ideas precisely. These problems sometimes make the reader work to interpret the message. Check spelling carefully and choose established collocations, such as “organic waste,” “recycling facilities,” and “recycled paper products.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts to connect ideas using longer structures, for example, “where waste management is being used effectively” and “which can lead to more garbage and pollution.” However, complex sentences are often incomplete or difficult to follow. The sentence beginning “For example, India…” continues through several clauses and ends with “Which also helps,” leaving a fragment rather than a complete sentence. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement, as in “recycling not happening currently,” and punctuation does not consistently separate complete ideas. The range of sentence structures is limited, and these recurring problems can make meaning less clear. Practise writing shorter complete sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate relative clauses and conjunctions.
