In many countries, people do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
In most of the countires, people prefer to waste most of their rubbish instead of recycling it and the main reason could be the convenience. People find it more easy to just throw the rubbish away and buy new things instead of storing it for later use.
Many people believe that if they can buy new things, which is more convenient, so what is the point of recycling the rubbish because they don't know the benefits of recycling. To solve this, government should write a little paragraph on recyclable things about the benefits of recycling and easy ways to do it. There are also some things that don't get usable after the first use, so companies should pay more attention to improve their products so people find it convincing to use the things more than one time.
Other than this, there should be some policies in the markets to make people recycle. For example, if the markets are using shopping bags, they should make a rule to give a sufficient amount of bags to one person and after that the person should be made to bring their own bags. By doing this, people will start to store it and use them more than one time intead of throwing it after one use.
Some people think it is more easy to just buy things rather than recycling them so government should increase the price of things that can be restored. By doing this, people will think before throwing those things after one use and eventually they will start to recycle those things to save some money.
In conclusion, people may find it inconvenient and hard to recycle but by making some amendments and taking some steps government will be able to make people recycle things and save the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: convenience and limited awareness are offered as reasons, while public information, improved product design, shopping-bag rules and price changes are proposed as solutions. The examples about reusable bags and saving money make the response relevant. However, some ideas are not fully explained or are unclear. For instance, the suggestion to raise the price of “things that can be restored” does not clearly explain which products are meant or how higher prices would encourage recycling. The point about companies improving products also needs a clearer link to rubbish disposal. Develop each main idea with a specific explanation of how it changes people’s behaviour, and make sure the proposed measures directly address recycling.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from reasons to several solutions and then to a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related ideas, and signposts such as “To solve this,” “Other than this,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, the progression between some points is not fully smooth: the paragraph about product design shifts to market rules, and the final solution about increasing prices repeats the earlier convenience argument without clearly building on it. References such as “it,” “them,” and “those things” can also be unclear because the specific item is not always obvious. Organise the solutions into a more deliberate sequence and use precise references to connect each explanation to its subject.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “recycling,” “convenience,” “policies,” “recyclable,” and “eventually.” Some topic-related expressions show an attempt to be specific, such as “storing it for later use” and “save the environment.” However, word choice and collocation are sometimes inaccurate or imprecise: “more easy” is not the natural comparative form, “write a little paragraph on recyclable things” is awkward, and “things that can be restored” does not clearly express the intended meaning. There are also spelling errors, including “countires” and “intead.” Build a more precise range of recycling-related terms and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “if,” and “which,” and most of the message remains understandable. Some sentence structures are controlled, such as “By doing this, people will start to store it and use them more than one time.” However, there are some errors in sentence construction and agreement. In “Many people believe that if they can buy new things, which is more convenient, so what is the point,” the conditional clause is not joined correctly to the question. “Government should” also needs an article or plural form, and “people find it more easy” has an incorrect comparative construction. Review clause linking, articles, and agreement, and check that pronouns match their nouns.
