Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays modern world recycling rubbish as much as a person can has become a widely disscussed topic, some people prefer that while others seem to be lazy about it, in my opinion everyone should recycle all their rubbish for some several reasons and i also have an opinion of what can be done to make people furthermore concerned about recycling.
To begin with one of the major reasons in my opinion is education, the countries with lower literacy rate are facing the problems of people throwing their waste or rubbish on road instead of recycling it,for example i would say that if people are getting educated on different types of pollution caused by this habbit of them everyone will prefer recycling instead of getting their country polluted.the second major aspect in the reasons of people do not recycling is lazziness and not getting something in return of giving time to this process, for example many countries pay their citizens with some rewards for recycling so people prefer it however other countries which do not have these oppertunities for their citizens are way behind in recycling and way ahead in pollution.
To some up in my opinion avery government should take it seriously and should have plans to increase the recycling rate and for motivating their citizens there should be wending machines like we have USA which takes your recyclable rubbish and give some money in return government can make a huge turnover by recycling these products which will definetly help in the economy as well as in decreasing pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question and maintain a clear view that recycling should be encouraged. The reasons you identify—limited education and lack of incentives—are relevant, and the example of rewards in some countries helps illustrate the second point. You also propose a practical measure: vending machines that accept recyclable waste and provide money. However, the education point is asserted rather than fully explained, and the comparison between countries is broad. The proposed machines could be developed further by explaining how they would be made accessible or funded. More specific explanation and examples would make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining two causes, and a concluding paragraph with a proposed solution. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “for example” help readers follow the main points. However, the introduction is a long sentence that combines several ideas, and the body paragraph moves from education to incentives without a clear transition. Some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “for example” and “in my opinion.” The conclusion introduces the vending-machine proposal rather than clearly summarising the earlier discussion. Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and connect each idea with more precise referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “literacy rate,” “pollution,” “recycling rate,” and “recyclable rubbish,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “rewards” and “turnover.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, including “some several reasons,” “getting something in return of giving time,” and “make a huge turnover.” Spelling errors such as “disscussed,” “habbit,” and “oppertunities” are noticeable, as are inconsistent capitalisation choices. Aim for accurate, natural combinations of words and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if people are getting educated … everyone will prefer recycling.” However, some sentences are overloaded and contain errors that make relationships between ideas harder to follow. For example, the opening sentence joins several independent ideas with commas, while “the second major aspect in the reasons of people do not recycling” has an incorrect verb pattern. There are also issues with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “a very government” and “machines … which takes … and give.” Use shorter, controlled sentences, and review verb forms after “do,” subject–verb agreement, and punctuation around clauses.
