Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify two relevant reasons for low recycling—people’s reluctance to sort rubbish and the demands of busy lives—and give examples involving an apartment building and a rural town. However, the task asks both why this happens and what can be done, and the response mainly explains causes. “By give good awareness about the waste sorting” hints at a solution but is not developed into a clear proposal; the conclusion is also unfinished, so your overall answer remains incomplete. The response is 50 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. To improve, develop practical measures such as convenient, clearly labelled bins, regular collection, and public education, and explain how each would increase recycling.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the examples broadly follow the reasons they illustrate. However, progression is difficult to follow in places: the opening moves abruptly from the problem to “By give good awareness,” while the final sentence stops at “pers,” leaving the conclusion incomplete. Some links between ideas are unclear, as in “In general, laziness they get to separate wastage,” and the transition “Nowadays” does not clearly connect the rural example to the preceding point. Use a clear topic sentence for each paragraph, connect each example explicitly to its reason, and finish with a complete summary that also addresses solutions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “recycling bins,” “sorting,” “curbside recycling pickup,” and “landfill service,” which helps communicate the topic. There is also some attempt to use more specific language through examples such as “glass jars and milk cartons.” However, word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make meaning harder to understand: “recycly,” “trash chutre,” “lage in hygenic,” and “drivve” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural, such as “do the recycly the waste things” and “lack of separate bins.” Build accuracy by learning common collocations such as “recycle household waste,” “sort rubbish,” and “access to recycling facilities,” and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentence structures, including the explanation that residents must drive to a recycling centre, and uses a relative clause in “forcing the people to walk far.” However, the range is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. For example, “In most of the nations citizen prefer” has problems with the article, plural and subject–verb agreement, while “Nowadays, busy lifestyles causing” lacks a finite verb. “Which cause the laziness” is a sentence fragment with incorrect agreement, and the opening paragraph contains incomplete or poorly connected clauses. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, checking agreement and articles, and using punctuation to separate independent clauses. Aim for accurate simple sentences before adding complexity.
