Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries, most number of people does not segregate their waste as much as they do. I believe that this was happening due to people are less aware about it and does not have any rule of waste management is country. But to overcomes this issue the government should introduce the strict rules and spread awareness about how important is waste management to us. This essay will discuss more in detail in following paragraphs.
The main is that people does not do waste management is they do not have any idea about the recycling. They consider any recyclable item as regular waste, for example plastic items are most used thing in household but many time they just throw it in regular waste. As a result, at a time of disposal of trash it was mix with regular types of rubbish and it could not use again. In addition, many countries does not have any rule about segregation of waste. Consequently, people does not care while throwing that in dustbin.
To overcome this kind of problem government should take initiative such as placing multiple trash bins for multiple types of waste, so people can throw waste as per its types. Moreover, to spread awareness about waste management they can put poster in public places, in school, colleges and offices a small lecture should be arrange on increase of pollution due to non-biodegradable waste and its consequences and how to reduce it by recycling process. Also they can apply strict rules against disposing reusable things like rubber and plastic, strictly they have to give things to recycle.
In conclusion, although people are not aware about recycling of waste to improve that issue administration should take responsibility to aware public by various types of initiatives and solve this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that limited awareness and a lack of rules contribute to low recycling, then propose bins, public information and stricter requirements. These ideas are relevant and your position—that authorities should take responsibility—is clear. The examples of plastic being discarded with general rubbish and posters or lessons in public institutions help illustrate your points. However, some proposals are less fully explained: for instance, the essay does not clarify how rules would be enforced or why people lack awareness in the first place. The conclusion mainly repeats the proposed response rather than drawing together the causes and solutions. Developing the reasoning behind each main point and showing how a measure would change behaviour would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph proposing solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from lack of knowledge and rules to practical interventions is easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “As a result,” “In addition,” and “Moreover” to signal relationships between ideas. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, several links feel mechanical, and some references are unclear—for example, “they can put poster” does not specify clearly who “they” refers to. The long sentence listing posters, lectures and their content also makes the sequence harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and divide lists of actions into separate, logically connected sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “recyclable,” “segregation,” “non-biodegradable,” “pollution,” and “recycling process,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main points. There are also attempts to express specific ideas, such as “multiple trash bins for multiple types of waste.” However, the range is limited in places, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural: “most number of people,” “regular types of rubbish,” and “take initiative” do not express the ideas precisely or idiomatically. Repetition of “waste,” “people,” and “recycling” also reduces flexibility. Build a bank of natural topic collocations, such as “sort household waste,” “recycling facilities,” and “raise public awareness,” and check whether each phrase fits its context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect clauses and examples introduced with “for example.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to process. Examples include “people does not” and “many countries does not,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect, and “this was happening due to people are less aware,” which combines tenses and clause structures incorrectly. Articles and verb forms also need attention in phrases such as “a small lecture should be arrange.” Some sentences contain several clauses or actions without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise accurate present-tense agreement, passive forms, and sentence punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
