Student answer (Band 6.0)

People in lot of countries do not recycle the rubbish as much as they could. This might occur due to the following reasons such as lack of awareness and not having proper facilities to deposit the rubbish. However, by providing the awareness and facilitating them to collect the rubbish can result in recycling of rubbish.

Most of the people are unaware of recycling the rubbish. Everyday huge quantities of rubbish is generated but a limited people will recycle it. Not everyone know the methods of recycling the rubbish. Due to lack of awareness, many people dont show interest to recycle rubbish. Besides this, we are lack with facilities to collect rubbish. In order to recycle rubbish, it must be collected, but there are only limited ways of collecting rubbish. In absence of proper facilities, people end up with not showing interest to collect rubbish.

On the other side, by providing awareness to people in the form of campaings and conducting events people can know the potential causes of pollution and accumulation of rubbish. In return, they turn towards environmental conversation. In the similar way, the government should facilitate more ways to collect rubbish. For example, by introducing the three bin system, a seperate bin should be accomodated to recycled matrials like plastic and electronics. This result in greater recyling of rubbish.

In conclusion, recycling the rubbish is very primary task fot both individuals and government and that can be attained by spreading awareness and providing the facilities to people in collecting rubbish.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the question: it identifies limited awareness and inadequate collection facilities as reasons, then proposes awareness campaigns and a three-bin system. These are relevant and the example of separating plastics and electronics helps make one solution concrete. The position is clear in the introduction and conclusion. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the discussion of awareness mostly repeats that people do not know how to recycle, without explaining what information or incentives would change their behaviour. The claim that people lack interest because collection options are limited could also be explained more precisely. Developing these points with a specific example or clearer cause-and-effect reasoning would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from reasons to remedies is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Besides this,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some control of progression. To make the links more natural and flexible, avoid relying on formulaic transitions such as “On the other side” and “In the similar way.” Some connections between sentences are also unclear, particularly “In return, they turn towards environmental conversation,” where the relationship between campaigns and the intended change needs to be stated more directly. Clearer referencing and smoother links would strengthen cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “facilities,” “pollution,” “three bin system,” and “plastic and electronics,” so the main ideas are understandable. It also attempts more specific language, such as “potential causes” and “accumulation.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “rubbish” and “recycle,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “providing the awareness,” “lack with facilities,” and “environmental conversation” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “campaings,” “seperate,” and “recyling” are noticeable. Build a wider set of accurate recycling-related expressions and check spelling and collocations to make the message more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple sentences and attempts at complex structures, including “In order to recycle rubbish, it must be collected” and the conditional idea in the introduction. The paragraphing and sentence boundaries generally make the response readable. Some grammatical errors remain, however, particularly with agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “huge quantities of rubbish is generated” should use a plural verb, while “a limited people” has an incorrect determiner. “Not everyone know” also needs subject–verb agreement, and “a seperate bin should be accomodated to recycled matrials” has an unclear grammatical structure. Review agreement and article use, and practise building accurate complex sentences; these changes would improve control without sacrificing variety.
