Student answer (Band 6.0)
While certain proportion of people beleives that recycling the household or industrial waste is a pure waste of time. Meanwhile, others believe that recycling household waste is a initiative for better environment. Recycling home used waste can significantly help in shaping a better envirionment for future generations.
I firmly believe that plastic waste should be recycled at any cost as plastic contributes very strongly in the environmental degredation and global warming. Every citizen of a nation should take it as their duty to recycle the plastic waste and other rubbish which are fit for recycle. One of the underlying factors for ozone layer depletion is the plastics and CFCs due to which harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays enters the earths surface and causes serious diseases like skin cancer and cholera.
For making every citizens to comply with recycling of waste municipal corporations of the specified areas should arrange awareness programmes on recycling of rubbish for better environment and they should also implement a stringent penalty if a person is found liable for polluting the environment by not recycling the waste and throwing it in the public places and in the river bodies. As living in a clean environment is a fundamental right of every citizen and everyone should perform their duties in order to keep the environment safe and preserve it for the upcoming generations.
To illustrate this point i would like to present a relevant illustration of Indore a city in Madhya Pradesh which was highly polluted till 2010 but after a noticable efforts made by Indore Municipal Corporation the city is ranking as the cleanest city in india from the pas 5 years by seggregating different types of waste, recycling household and industrial decay and launching awarenss programmes for its citizens to contribute for a healthy and better environment and also by penalising the person responsible for the environmental damage.
Only we the citizens of different nations are responsible for polluting the environment and liability to make up the loss lies on ourselves only.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that people may not recycle because they regard it as a waste of time, and propose awareness programmes and penalties as solutions. Your position in favour of recycling is clear, and the Indore example gives the response a relevant real-world illustration. However, the explanation of why recycling rates are low is much less developed than the proposed solutions; the opening claim is not explored with reasons such as inconvenience, limited facilities, or lack of knowledge. Some supporting claims, including the link between plastic and ozone depletion, are also not clearly explained. Develop the causes as fully as the solutions and make each example directly support the point being made.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph stating your position, a paragraph of proposed measures, and an example followed by a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main argument. However, progression is sometimes weakened by abrupt or unclear links. The opening contrast between people who oppose recycling and those who support it is not connected clearly to the question about why recycling is limited. Phrases such as “To illustrate this point” do not specify which point is being illustrated, and the final sentence repeats the responsibility theme rather than drawing the argument together. Use clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing, and ensure each paragraph develops one distinct part of the task.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “environmental degradation,” “stringent penalty,” “segregating,” and “awareness programmes.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic terms, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “pure waste of time,” “home used waste,” and “recycling household and industrial decay.” There are also spelling errors, including “beleives,” “envirionment,” and “seggregating,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for natural combinations such as “a waste of time,” “household waste,” and “industrial waste,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if a person is found liable” and a relative clause in “which was highly polluted till 2010.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “a initiative” needs the article “an,” and “UV rays enters” has a plural subject that requires “enter.” In “For making every citizens to comply,” the construction and subject form are not grammatical; use “To encourage every citizen to comply.” The long sentence about Indore also contains several linked clauses that make the structure difficult to control. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
