Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's era, the problem of increasing garbage is increasing rapidly. People often do not recycle their rabbish as much as they could, which ultimately lead to detrimental effects for their health as well as environment. There are many factors responsible for this. In the following paragraphs, I would explain the reasons with suitable solutions.

The first and foremost reason is lack of awareness. To be more precise, humans do not have enough knowledge about recycling policy reduce, reuse and recycle. Everyday, they throw lot of garbage in the form of water bottle, rappers, industrial waste and so on. These garbage is not only harmful for health but also has an alarming effect on environment. The another major aspect is recycling required high cost. To explain it, due to high cost of it, individuals think that buy new one is cheaper, so they spent money to buy something new instead of recycling old one. For example, electric equipments like new samsung mobile phone cost is Rs 10,000 and the recycling cost is approximately 7,000. Therefore, mankind think that buy new one is beneficial for long time.

With regard to solutions, there are numerous possible ways to tackle this issue. The major reason is that there is a need to spread awareness among society. To explicate it, there is a need for organizations and government to conduct seminar on public places for the importance and benefits of recycling process. In this way, they learn how important is recycling and will give attention towards this matter. Moreover, authorities have to make some strict laws related to this. In case of any person break these laws then central government have to give punishment to that person such as tax and prison for short time.

In conclusion, although this matter has become a serious matter but I believe that by following the solutions society can overcome this issue

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question by identifying limited awareness and the perceived cost of recycling, then suggesting public education and legal penalties. The examples of everyday waste and the comparison between buying and recycling a phone help make the causes more concrete. However, some ideas are only partly explained: the phone-cost example does not show why recycling is expensive or whether this applies to rubbish generally, and the proposed seminars and punishments are not developed with likely effects or practical detail. Your conclusion restates that the issue can be overcome but does not reinforce a clear, specific position. Explain the causes more precisely and show how each proposed measure would increase recycling to make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “The first and foremost reason,” “With regard to solutions,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, progression is sometimes mechanical, with repeated framing phrases such as “To be more precise” and “To explain it.” Some links between ideas are also unclear: the discussion moves from lack of awareness to the cost of recycling without showing how these causes relate, and “The major reason” in the solutions paragraph refers back ambiguously. Use more precise referencing and connect each explanation directly to its main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “recycling policy,” “industrial waste,” “awareness,” and “strict laws,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “detrimental effects” and “tackle this issue.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “rabbish,” “rappers” for “wrappers,” and “These garbage.” Some combinations are unnatural or unclear, such as “recycling required high cost” and “give attention towards this matter.” Repetition of “issue,” “matter,” and “reason” also limits variety. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for discussing waste, costs, public education, and enforcement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “In case of any person…” and a result clause introduced by “Therefore.” The main ideas can usually be followed, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur often enough to affect clarity. For example, “which ultimately lead” needs a singular verb, while “These garbage is” has a mismatch between the demonstrative and noun. Phrases such as “recycling required high cost” and “they spent money to buy” also show problems with verb forms and sentence structure. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, countable nouns, and consistent tense.
