Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify inadequate recycling facilities and people’s lack of time or motivation as reasons, then suggest government incentives, awareness events and greater personal responsibility. These ideas are relevant, and the essay has a clear overall direction. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that mixed waste will “spread diseases” is not developed, and the proposed rewards are not illustrated or explained in terms of how they would change behaviour. The final example about separating materials is useful, but its connection to the earlier solutions could be clearer. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and make the relationship between the causes and proposed measures more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the answer, and transitions such as “Moreover,” “For example” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The repeated use of “Ultimately” does not always show a precise logical link, while “Though” and “But” are used in ways that make some sentences feel disconnected. References such as “them” in “they threw them wastage” are also difficult to follow. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each sentence directly to the idea before it; clearer topic sentences and more precise pronouns would improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “appropriate bins,” “self-awareness,” “policies” and “rewarding,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions, and several word choices or forms make the message difficult to interpret. Examples include “government provocations facilities,” “improvised people,” “wastage part” and “recycle process.” There are also spelling errors such as “invidual,” “lazziness” and “recyle.” These issues are lexical rather than grammatical and sometimes obscure your meaning. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations, such as “recycling facilities,” “raise public awareness” and “separate waste by material,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, including a contrast in “Although … but …” and a relative clause in “events that may help…”. This shows some range, but control is uneven: several complex sentences are faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. For instance, “One of the main reason is” has a number-agreement problem, while “they are threw” and “It will be affect” use incorrect verb forms. The opening also joins contrasting ideas with “But” after an incomplete sentence. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check each sentence for a complete main clause and consistent verb forms.
