Student answer (Band 6.0)
As a Climate warrior and intern at Environmental Protection and Climate Change department of my country, I have personally observed this issue in my own country. According to my opinion and observation, the lack of rubbish recycling is due to the fact that waste recycling companies are not as much accessible as they should be to the citizens. Although it is changing in Pakistan, but still there is a lot more to improve. Due to lack of resources, countries do not have a proper waste recycling system. Recycling is something which can help us to reduce the pollution. Another readson is that, the citizens do not have the awareness about approaching and handing over their waste to the waste recycler companies. A very prominent example of this from my own observation was during my work with Environmental Protection Agency Bahawalpur. We were inspecting the waste seggregation practices and how the waste is disposed in different hospitals of the city. During our talks with the hospital staff, we came to know that they do not even know about the waste disposal and recycling companies and how to approach them to dispose their waste. This thing was very concerning for me that even in the healthcare sector, the people do not have basic awareness about waste disposal.
If we talk about the household practices, I personally observed that when i was in United States during my Global Uundergraduate exchange semester, I was invited for a supper on my host family's house along with other international students, and they were having disposable plates and cutlery. I curiously asked my host mother about it and she said that she just wanted to avoid the burden of washing alot of dishes. This made me think that may be people are not recycling or re-using the things due to avoidance of extra effort.
According to my observation, this can be changed by raising awareness among public about these sensitive issues, by telling them that how these practices are affecting our planet and these can be very harmful for the future generations. Moreover, an improved governmental policiy to collect the household and industrial waste can be of great significance in dealing with the problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify limited access to recycling services, lack of public knowledge, and reluctance to make extra effort, then suggest awareness campaigns and better government collection policies. The hospital example gives relevant support to the awareness point, while the disposable-plate anecdote illustrates convenience as a possible cause. However, some ideas are developed more fully than others: the household example is based on one occasion, and the proposed solutions are stated briefly without explaining how they would change behaviour. The response would be stronger if you clarified the relative importance of these causes and developed practical measures, such as convenient collection points, clear sorting instructions, or incentives.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a generally clear overall arrangement: it introduces the issue, discusses causes with examples, and ends with possible solutions. Paragraphing helps distinguish the discussion of institutional awareness from the household example and recommendations. Linking expressions such as “Another reason,” “If we talk about,” and “Moreover” guide the reader, although some transitions feel mechanical, and the final paragraph moves quickly from awareness to government policy. References such as “this thing” and “these” are not always precise, so the reader must infer exactly which issue or practices they refer to. To improve progression, group the causes more deliberately and connect each proposed solution directly to the cause it addresses.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “waste segregation,” “waste disposal,” “recycling system,” and “governmental policy,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “of great significance.” However, several word choices and collocations are awkward or imprecise, including “waste recycler companies,” “the burden of washing,” and “approaching and handing over their waste.” Spelling errors such as “readson,” “seggregation,” “Uundergraduate,” and “policiy” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise combinations—for example, “recycling companies,” “the effort of washing dishes,” and “contacting a recycling service”—and proofread carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including subordinate clauses and conditional-style explanations, and the main meaning is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, prepositions, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “invited for a supper on my host family's house” has incorrect prepositions and article use; “the citizens do not have the awareness” is an awkward article pattern; and “how the waste is disposed in different hospitals” needs a different grammatical construction. The opening sentence is also a fragment-like introductory phrase attached to the main clause. Review article use and preposition patterns, and check that each sentence has a clear, correctly formed main clause.
