Student answer (Band 5.0)

in many countries waste is not rescycled by people but its not entirely tha fault of public there are many countires specially developing coutries where there is rubbish recylcing is not even common. if we compare rule and regulation of some developed country like germany that make people dispose there houshold waste in recycling bins accordingly to the country which in contrary dont even have installed a single bin on street there would definatly be a difference in public and there habbits. If we want to change this we have to create a system in those countries too we also have to put those machine we see in germany where you put you plastic bottles and get money, that can too motivate people to recycle the rubbish

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify two relevant causes: recycling is not common in some developing countries, and people may lack access to suitable bins. You also suggest two practical measures—creating a recycling system and offering money for returned plastic bottles. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the causes are asserted rather than explained, and the solutions are not developed with examples or detail. The comparison with Germany gives a useful starting point, but it is difficult to follow and does not show clearly how its rules could be applied elsewhere. The response is also substantially below the required minimum length, leaving both parts of the question underdeveloped. Explain why people do not recycle and describe how each proposed measure would work.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic line of thought: you move from the problem and its causes to possible solutions, and phrases such as “If we want to change this” signal that shift. This gives the reader some organisation. However, the response is one long, unpunctuated paragraph, so the ideas do not have a clear overall progression. The comparison between Germany and countries without street bins is packed into one sentence, making the relationship between the points hard to track. The final sentence also combines two solutions without explaining or separating them. Use distinct paragraphs for causes and solutions, and connect each point with clear references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling bins,” “dispose,” “household waste,” and “motivate,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There is also an attempt to use more specific language through the example of bottle-return machines. However, spelling errors are frequent, including “rescycled,” “countires,” “recylcing,” and “definatly,” and these make the response less clear and polished. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “create a system” and “put those machine,” which do not specify the arrangements you mean. Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing precise phrases such as “introduce a nationwide collection scheme” or “install bottle-return machines.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to express connected and complex ideas, particularly in the comparison beginning “if we compare rule and regulation…” and in the conditional “If we want to change this…”. This shows some ability to link clauses. However, the response relies on a small range of sentence patterns, and several long sentences are difficult to control. For example, the comparison sentence lacks clear grammatical structure, while “there is rubbish recycling is not even common” combines clauses incorrectly. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and possessives, as in “those machine” and “there houshold waste.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate punctuation and grammar.
