Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, some people do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could in many countries.I will discuss the reason behind it and suggest some useful changes to be done in this regard.

Firstly,in some countries some people do not take part in environmental development of a country by performing thweie responsibilties well which includes following the trafic rules ,obeying laws and never crossing boundaries that are some main responsibilty of a good citizens that they know all the society circumstances and remain in their limits. In addition to this some basic manners are also of great importance that we should have to talk about which includes humanity, behaviour with others and habits that have positive and negative impact on society.

Secondly, the one of the basic ettiquettes involve keeping surrounding clean by not spreading pollution.Pollution is of many types like major are air, water and land pollution.People pollute their environment in many ways for instant the pollute air by using excessive fireworks and smoke which produce by burning vehicles fuel and in under-developed countries like Pakistan smog is becoming a wider problem day by day. Some people also pollute water by releasing harm chemicals in water which include factory raw material including oils containing harsh chemicals .But above all the major problem in many countries is land pollution whose biggest reason is irresponsible behaviour of citien that the do not bother where they throw their trash and gradually all people become addict to this bad habit by following others someties unintensionally. They throws polythen bags and even disposible items also on public spots like parks and visiting areas .

There are many rerasons behind it that there are no trash bins on public spots so that instead of keeping trash with them to throw in bins they dislike to hold trash and throw everywhere sometimes because of lack of trash bins. But some people are much irresponsible that remaining in limits feels cage to them and they are use to be do such behaviour because of their not well groming.

In conclusion, government should have to take several steps to minimize such pollution which is a major environmental factor. Government should have to place proper trash bins with sections of disposible and useless trash. Also there are some organizations who gave knowledge and awareness of people about all kinds of pollution and have to pay their attentions towards solutions and making them good citizens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify a relevant cause—people discard rubbish carelessly—and suggest government action such as providing bins and raising awareness. The examples of litter in parks and pollution in Pakistan help connect the discussion to real situations. However, the response only partially answers the question: much of the first paragraph discusses general citizenship, traffic rules and manners rather than explaining why recycling rates are low. The distinction between littering and failing to recycle is also not made clear, and the proposed changes are brief and not fully explained. Develop a focused explanation of barriers such as inconvenient collection systems or limited public knowledge, then show how specific measures would address them. (The 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the broad structure visible. However, the progression is difficult to follow because ideas shift from civic duties to different forms of pollution and then to recycling without clear links. The long second body paragraph combines several examples, while the paragraph beginning “There are many reasons” repeats the lack of bins and adds another cause without a clear relationship to the earlier discussion. Some linking phrases, including “But above all,” do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas. Use one paragraph for causes and another for solutions, with each paragraph organised around a clear main point and supported by relevant explanation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “environmental,” “pollution,” “irresponsible behaviour,” “trash bins” and “awareness,” and you distinguish among air, water and land pollution. However, the range is limited by repetition of words such as “pollution,” “people” and “government,” and several choices are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “environmental development” for environmental responsibility, “harsh chemicals” where a more precise description is needed, and “remaining in limits feels cage to them.” Spelling errors such as “responsibilties,” “ettiquettes” and “citien” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of terms for recycling and waste management, and check spelling and collocations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and extended sentences, including clauses introduced by “which” and “because,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “some people do not take part … which includes following the trafic rules” has unclear agreement and reference, while “they are use to be do such behaviour” has an incorrect verb construction. There are also recurring problems with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, as in “a good citizens” and the long sentence beginning “People pollute their environment in many ways.” Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms. Careful punctuation will also help readers follow your examples.
