Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the prompt by summarizing the bar chart, but it fails to accurately report the data. The figures provided (e.g., '8.5%', '8%', '7%') do not align with typical bar chart data for these categories, suggesting a misunderstanding of the visual information. Furthermore, the description of the data is fragmented and lacks a clear overview of the main trends. The comparison between countries is superficial, and the report lacks the analytical depth required for a Band 6 or higher. To improve, ensure you accurately transcribe the data from the chart and group information logically to highlight key similarities and differences rather than listing figures in isolation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'overall'), they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately, such as starting a sentence with 'In UK' without proper articles. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the three countries. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'activity', 'type', and 'preferable'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'studying sudden increse noticed' and 'lowest preferable type of learners'. The spelling of 'increse' and 'decrese' is incorrect. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuation', 'proportion', 'significant', or 'marginal', and ensure that your word forms are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with article usage (e.g., 'in UK', 'in japan', 'in Germany country'), subject-verb agreement ('learners was choose'), and sentence structure ('A dramatic decrease was stood at 8%'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some errors in basic syntax. To improve, focus on mastering the use of articles, correct verb tenses, and ensuring that your sentences are grammatically complete and accurately punctuated.
