Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 85 words. Consequently, the information provided is severely underdeveloped. While you have attempted to identify some main features, such as comparing study time in Japan to other countries, the lack of detail and failure to report on all data points significantly impacts the score. To improve, you must provide a more comprehensive overview, include specific data points from the chart to support your observations, and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for full development of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is very brief, making it difficult to establish a clear logical progression. While there is a basic attempt at an introduction and an overview, the paragraphing is insufficient. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes awkward, such as the use of 'Thereafter' to transition between points, which is not contextually appropriate here. To improve, focus on grouping related information into distinct paragraphs and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more naturally and logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the ratio of relaxing is same' and 'the number of relaxing is much below'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', or 'allocate time', and work on using collocations correctly to describe trends and comparisons.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The students of Japan has'), incorrect article usage ('the typical weekday', 'the UK and Germany'), and awkward phrasing ('is also quitly similar'). The range of sentence structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and attempting to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using subordinating conjunctions to combine your ideas.
