Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by identifying the main features of the bar chart, such as the time spent on sleeping, studying, and relaxing. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention the data for the three countries, the comparisons are occasionally confusing, such as the statement that students in Germany spend time studying 'between other two nations'. The overview is present but lacks clarity regarding the most significant trends. To improve, ensure that your summary highlights the most striking differences or similarities more precisely rather than just listing figures. The data reporting is generally accurate, but the overall synthesis of the information could be more cohesive to better meet the requirements for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To commence with' and 'To add further'. There are also issues with referencing; for example, the phrase 'Other two nations student invest their time proportinatly' is vague and lacks a clear connection to the preceding sentence. The progression of ideas is sometimes interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the flow feel disjointed. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their intended subjects would significantly improve the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher levels. There are several spelling errors, such as 'relexting' (relaxing) and 'proportinatly' (proportionately), which distract from the content. Additionally, word choices are sometimes repetitive or slightly unnatural, such as 'invest their time on study for enhance their skills'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more varied vocabulary to describe trends and ensure accurate spelling. Incorporating more precise collocations, such as 'allocate time' instead of 'invest time', would also demonstrate a stronger command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('students in Japan are spend their time'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction ('students in Japan spent their time most in sleeping it is 13 hours'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence structure prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct sentence punctuation will help improve your accuracy.
