IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart shows the typical weekday for students in three different countries.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The bar chart compares the activities of students on weekday in three countries including UK, Japan and Germany.

Overall, most of students in Japan spend their time in studying while in UK students most interested in sleeping activity.

In UK students spend their weekday in sleep which is the greatest activity most students did on weekday. However, in Japan students were serious about their study. The number of students which spent their time in studying is 13 out of 14 which was the largest number of students compare to UK and Germany. In contrast, germen students also took interest in study most rather relaxing or sleeping. Relaxing is least common in Japan while in UK and Germany it was same.

Sleeping activity was popular in UK, about 8.5 of students out of 14. In Germany the ratio of sleep is almost same as in UK, it was 8 out of 14. Whereas, in Japan sleeping is on second rank after studying.
