The bar chart shows the typical weekday for students in three different countries.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar graph illustrates how students from three different countries spend their weekdays. The bar shows the three activities labeled for sleeping, studying and relaxing against the units upto 14.

For the first country, UK, students spend highest sleeping time (8.5) among all three. Germany has a similar pattern as UK with a slightly higher studying time (9) compared to UK (8). Japan on the other contrary, has the highest studying time (13) which comes at the expense of the lowest relaxing time (4) which is almost half of what is seen in UK or Germany counterparts and slightly lower sleep (7) among the three countries.

Overall, we can conclude that sleeping patterns is similar for all three countires, relaxing time is almost identical for Germany and UK. Studying however, is prioritized by Japan for students over Leisure or relaxing time. The studying time seen in Japan is almost double of what we see in the UK.

In summary, while all three countries allocate broadly similar time to sleeping, Japan diverges sharply in prioritizing study time over rest and leisure.
