IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart shows the typical weekday for students in three different countries.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The given bar graph gives us information about the typical weekdays for students in UK, Japan and Germany. They collect information of student's habits of sleeping, studying and relaxing.The data given in percentage.

A cursory glance at the graph is adequate enough to illustrate that the habit of studying was at peak in Japan. It was about 13%. It was 9% in Germany and 8% in UK. The sleeping habit of pupils were 8.5% in UK whereas it decline slightly. It was 7% in Japan and it was 8% in Germany.

Further looking at graph, it can be seen that the habit of relaxing in UK was 7%. However, it was dropped abruptly. It was 4% in UK. Moreover, it was increased significantly and reached 7% in Germany.

After analyzing the graph, it can be noticed that the habit of studying, sleeping and relaxing show fluctuations over the period. The habit of studying is at peak in Japan besides the habit of relaxting is low in Japan.
