The bar chart shows the typical weekday for students in three different countries.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The bar chart compares three countries (the United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany) based on how students distribute their time (in hours) for sleeping, studying, and relaxing.

Overall, students from the United Kingdom and Germany show identical patterns of time allocation for studying, sleeping, and relaxing. However, Japan substantially differs from both countries. All three countries have the largest proportion of time designated for studying, while the lowest number of hours are for relaxing and leisure activities.

The students in the United Kingdom have a schedule of 8.5 hours of sleep, 8 hours of study time, and 7 hours for relaxation. Like the UK, Germany also has 7 hours of relaxation time but varies slightly for study and sleep time. It has 8 hours for sleeping and 9 hours for studying. However, Students in Japan prefer to spend more time studying; they have 13 hours of the day assigned for studying, have a proper 7 hours of sleep, but relaxation is least of priorities (4 hours).
