The bar chart shows the typical weekday for students in three different countries.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The given bar chart represents a typical weekday of students doing activities such as sleeping, studying and relaxing in United Kingdom, Japan and Germany. The chart compares the number of hours that students spend in doing these activites for each of the three countries. Observing the chart, the number of hours students in Japan spend on studying is highest compared to UK and Germany. Meanwhile, the number of hours spend on relaxing is the lowest for Japanese students.
The number of hours for sleeping, studying and relaxing are in balance for both UK and German students, with slight differences in sleeping and studying hours. By far the lowest relaxing time is taken up by Japanese students which is 4 hours and the highest studying time is taken by Japanese students as well which is 13 hours. For sleeping time the highest time taken up is of 8.5 hours by UK students.
The chart can be summarised and concluded as Japanese students with very long studying hours and a very unbalanced weekday, UK students and German students having a balanced weekday with sufficient hours in studying, sleeping and relaxing.
