The bar chart shows the typical weekday for students in three different countries.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The provided bar chart illustrates how different students from the UK, Japan and Germany spend their weakday on average.

Overall, the Japanese students displayed extreme studying and less relaxing behaviour, while the UK and Germany students showed nearly similar patterns of their time in various activities.

Sleeping is the most common activity that students spent almost equal amount of time in a day. They spent around 7 - 8.5 hours for sleeping. In terms of studying, the Japanese students spent approximately 13 hours a day, which is the largest figure in the whole chart. By contrast, the UK and Germany students used 8 - 9 hours for studying.

Finally, the Japanse students took only 4 hours for relaxing purposes, while the other 2 countries spent 7 hours.

In conclusion, the Japanese students spent extra hours studying rather than relaxing, while the UK and Germany students equally distributed their time for sleeping, studying and relaxing.
