Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response is under the minimum word count of 150 words, coming in at 140 words, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. Furthermore, the content struggles to effectively summarise the main features of the chart. While the student attempts to mention sleeping, studying, and relaxing across the UK, Japan, and Germany, the data cited is frequently inaccurate or confused. For instance, the student states that Japan's sleeping ratio is '7 which is one percent less than which me that me in japan compromize there sleep' and offers personal commentary rather than objective reporting ('i think that that the reason that on daily base technology is increseing'). The lack of a clear overview and misinterpretation of data place this response at Band 4.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response consists of one single, extremely long, run-on sentence without any paragraphing or appropriate punctuation. There is a total absence of full stops, capital letters at the beginning of sentences, and standard cohesive devices. Ideas flow directly into one another in a chaotic manner ('germany is aslo on second position in sleeping but on top in relaxing which mean that people in germany feel better'). The lack of logical segmentation and mechanical structure significantly hinders readability, aligning the response with Band 4.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that impede communication. Examples of weak or incorrect phrasing include 'differnet' instead of difference, 'compro-mize' for compromise, 'increseing' for increasing, and 'base' for basis. The student attempts some less common terms like 'technology' and 'compromise', but the persistent lexical inaccuracies and inability to control word forms restrict the score to Band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the text. The entire student submission is essentially one giant run-on sentence joined by coordinating conjunctions or just a stream of consciousness, completely lacking terminal punctuation. There is a total failure to utilise complex sentence structures accurately, and basic subject-verb agreement or tense consistency are frequently violated ('the graph show us', 'sleeping is very important for very one for there health'). Due to the pervasive grammatical errors and lack of sentence boundaries, the response achieves Band 4.0.
