Student answer (Band 5.0)
This bar chart shows the routine in weekday for students that are studing in three different countries
First country is UK, second one is Japan and the third one which is close to my heart germany.
this bar chart shows three main points sleeping, studying and relaxing.
The Uk have moderate scores in each section 8.5 in sleeping, 8 in studying and 76 in relaxing.
whereever Japan students sleeps a lot and relax less likely and sleep moderate 7,13 and 4.
In germany the data matches to UK but they got more points in stuyding and a bit less in sleeping
around 8 and 9 in study also 7 in relaxing.
this chart shows us a crucial data that in japan students study more as compare to other countries and they relax less. however i prefer balanced in everything instead of students who burnout themselves and study more then it needed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the main features of the chart, mentioning sleeping, studying, and relaxing across the UK, Japan, and Germany. However, some data is inaccurate or poorly reported, such as the claim of '76 in relaxing' for the UK or the confused figure listing '7, 13 and 4' right after stating Japan students sleep a lot and relax less. The overview is informal and incomplete. Furthermore, the inclusion of personal opinion in the final paragraph ('i prefer balanced in everything') detracts from the objective nature required in Academic Task 1, pushing the performance into partially addressed territory where key features are under-developed or flawed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response lacks clear overall progression and logical organization. The text is broken into short, choppy sentences and loose groupings rather than cohesive paragraphs, beginning with single-sentence lines like 'First country is UK...' and 'this bar chart shows three main points...'. Cohesive devices are minimal or inaccurate, such as 'whereever Japan students sleeps a lot' and abrupt transitions between ideas. Paragraphing is not used effectively to structure the report, resulting in a disjointed flow that hinders readability and fails to guide the reader through the data logically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Vocabulary is limited and adequate only for basic communication, featuring repetitive phrasing like 'this bar chart shows'. There are noticeable lexical and word-form errors, including 'studing' instead of studying, 'germany' uncapitalized, and unnatural phrasing such as 'relax less likely'. Spelling errors and incorrect word choices, such as confusing numerical data placement or inventing impossible figures like '76', cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the vocabulary range from satisfying higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences with frequent basic grammatical errors. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'The Uk have' and 'students sleeps', missing articles ('In germany', 'in japan'), and punctuation neglect (lack of capitalisation and missing full stops at the beginning or end of clauses). Attempts at complex sentences are faulty, and frequent errors persist throughout the text, although they rarely completely obscure the core meaning.
