Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features of the chart and making relevant comparisons between the three countries. You provided an adequate overview of the data, noting key trends such as Japanese students spending the most time studying and the least time relaxing. However, some ideas are under-developed or expressed informally, such as the conversational phrasing 'Earlier we saw Japanese students score was only 4'. While all major categories—sleeping, studying, and relaxing—are mentioned with supporting figures, your analysis would benefit from a more academic tone and greater depth in synthesizing the comparisons to reach a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical sequence from an introductory overview to specific body details. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'However the given chart shows' and 'Earlier we saw' feel conversational rather than cohesive in an academic context. Paragraphing is attempted with labelled sections like 'Introduction :' and 'Summary :', but these labels are non-standard for IELTS Writing Task 1. Referencing is generally clear, but using more varied and sophisticated cohesive devices would improve the flow and progression of your ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating key topic-related terms such as 'data', 'duration', 'average', and 'territories'. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, though this is accompanied by some word-choice and stylistic inaccuracies, such as using 'score' instead of 'hours' or 'time' when referring to duration, and 'invest lesser time' instead of 'spend less time'. Spelling and word-choice errors are present ('territories' instead of 'countries', 'lowest rank' instead of 'lowest position'), but these errors do not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

Your writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'It reveals how much time learners from different nations spends on sleeping...'. There are some grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('nations spends' instead of 'nations spend', 'weekdays' instead of week or days), missing articles ('at first place' instead of 'in first place'), and punctuation errors. However, these errors are relatively infrequent and rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow your intended meaning without significant difficulty.
