Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main contrast: Japanese students spend the most time studying and the least time relaxing, while the UK and Germany have similar figures for relaxing. Most reported values are accurate, including Japan’s 13 hours of study and 4 hours of relaxation, and the UK and Germany’s 7 hours of relaxation. However, the overview is unclear and the response does not fully summarise the chart: for example, it says UK students “like sleeping for long time,” although Germany’s 8 hours is lower than the UK’s 8.5. The repeated German study figure adds little, while the UK’s highest sleeping figure and the overall range of study hours could be stated more clearly. The response is also 27 words below the required minimum, limiting the detail provided.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an opening, an overview, and details about the three activities. Linking expressions such as “In contrast” and “Moreover” show an attempt to connect comparisons. However, progression is limited: the details move between countries and activities without a consistent pattern, and the final sentence repeats that German students study for nine hours, already stated earlier. Some connections are unclear, particularly “Remained both country's students spend their time with almost similiar routine,” which does not clearly explain which countries or activities are being compared. Organise the body by activity or by country, and use each paragraph to add a distinct comparison rather than repeat information.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “studying,” “sleeping,” “relax,” and “hours,” so the basic information is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are unnatural, such as “spend their lot of time in studying,” “like sleeping for long time,” and “enjoy to sleep.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “similiar,” “Japanies,” and “German's.” These reduce precision and make parts of the overview difficult to follow. Aim for accurate chart language such as “spend,” “devote,” and “hours per day,” and use country adjectives consistently: “Japanese,” “British,” and “German.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and comparisons, but the sentence patterns are limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “In Japan students highest time spend in studying” has incorrect word order and lacks a clear verb structure; “German's students 9 hours spend studying” also places the verb incorrectly. The overview sentence beginning “Overall, In Japan…” has faulty construction, and “Remained both country's students…” is not a complete, clear grammatical statement. Articles and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “for long time” and the capitalised “In” after “Overall.” Practise reliable patterns such as “Students in Japan spend 13 hours studying” and “The UK and Germany each record seven hours of relaxation.”
