Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many people believe that smoking can cause dangerous illness, and it should make illegal. I wholeheartedly agree with this viewpoint, because excessive smoking harmful for everyone.
On the one hand, there are numerous reasons why I think excessive smoking can harmful. when individuals take nicotine, which can creating to much problem. If people can smokes in public areas and other person stand beside with him, both are suffering in smoking related problems. To much nicotine impact human brains. As a result, they cannot concentrate properly any works. Consequently, when citizens having smoking they may lossing their health condition. For example, In Bangladesh, many people are adicted in cigarate; so, they face serious ill every day.
Furthermore, A large number of people addicted on cigarate due to which can get available every where. If we protect the young generation, I believe government should banned those types of industry that makes cigarate illegal. Moreover, national authorities plays sticks ruls, so that anyone who brakes this lows, he may be punished according to the lows. Nonetheless, business owners cannot sell cigarates without allows publics authorities. However, government cannot proper solution about this problems, we should encourages each others.
In conclusion, even though, national authourities takes steps banned illegal industrious, I contend that too much smoking by people they can face serious illness and unhealthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear general view in the introduction (“I wholeheartedly agree”) and give relevant reasons, including harm to bystanders and the risks of nicotine. However, the response only partially develops the question of whether smoking should be made illegal. Much of the discussion explains that smoking is harmful, while the proposed ban on cigarette industries and penalties is introduced briefly and not supported with a clear explanation or example. The Bangladesh example is relevant but remains general and does not show specific consequences. The response also contains 221 words, below the required 250, so there is limited space to develop your position and supporting ideas. Explain why prohibition would be effective, address possible objections, and extend each main point with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposting such as “On the one hand,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” helps identify the stages of the argument. However, the progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from nicotine to concentration and then to illness without clearly connecting these points. Some linking expressions are used mechanically or do not show the intended relationship, as in “Nonetheless” and “However.” References such as “these types” and “this problems” are also unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, explain it in a logical sequence, and use linking words only where their meaning fits.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “nicotine,” “public areas,” “young generation” and “serious illness,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main concerns. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument hard to understand, such as “impact human brains,” “face serious ill” and “plays sticks ruls.” Spelling errors, including “adicted,” “cigarate” and “authourities,” also reduce clarity. Aim to learn accurate phrases for discussing health effects, regulation and enforcement, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the difference between banning tobacco sales and restricting smoking in public places.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure (“If we protect the young generation…”) and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. Examples include “it should make illegal,” “excessive smoking harmful for everyone,” and “when citizens having smoking they may lossing their health condition.” These show problems with verb forms, missing verbs and sentence construction. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “national authorities plays” and “a large number of people addicted.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking that every clause has a correctly formed verb.
