Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response partially addresses the task by discussing the impact of smoking and agreeing with the notion that smoking should be made illegal. However, it lacks depth and specific examples to support the points made. For instance, while it mentions health issues related to smoking, it does not elaborate on how these laws might lead to healthier societies or reference empirical evidence. The overall argumentation is underdeveloped, which hinders the effectiveness of the response to fully meet the task requirements. **Band Score: 5**
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay exhibits some coherence, with a logical flow from introduction to conclusion; however, organization is often vague, and ideas don't progress smoothly. For example, the transitions between points within paragraphs (e.g., from discussing health issues to financial concerns) are weak. The use of words like "In addition to that" shows an attempt to connect ideas, but clarity is compromised by grammatical errors and awkward sentence structures. Overall, the progression of ideas needs improvement for higher coherence. **Band Score: 5**
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used in this essay is basic and at times inaccurately employed, leading to confusion. Words like "harm to comman men" and "unwanted item" detract from the academic tone. Additionally, phrases such as "they invest of unwanted item" are grammatically incorrect. While some terminology related to the topic is present, a wider range of more precise vocabulary (e.g., "individuals" instead of "an human being") would benefit the response significantly. This limits lexical resource effectiveness. **Band Score: 5**
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammatical range is limited with numerous errors, including subject-verb agreement (e.g., "people are move into doing illegal activities" should be "people are moving into doing illegal activities") and improper use of prepositions (e.g., "lost of their disposable income" should be "loss of their disposable income"). Sentence structures are often awkward, which detracts from communication clarity. However, some correct grammar constructions are used. Overall, frequent errors impact understanding. **Band Score: 5**

Finally, pay attention to grammatical accuracy and clarity in your sentences to increase the overall readability of your work.
