Smoking is a serious issue which has spread worldwide. Moreover, smoking can also cause many serious issues according to health. Smoking must be banned in any country because this activity is destroying the smoker internally.
Smoking can cause many serious issues according to heath such as, smoking can destroy lungs and also cause many heart diseases. Smoking can also demolish the natural beauty of person which decreases the glow of face also. Many people also believe that smoking can reduce their sadness and help them relax. However, in reality, this habit damages brain cells and negatively affects the immune system.
Our society also dislikes a smoker. Society does not accept a person which is involved in drugs. Smoking is the first step towards the drug addiction. When smokers spend time in bad company, particularly with other smokers and drug users, they may be encouraged to develop an addiction to drugs as well.
Our government should also try to focus on these people however, they are permanent smokers or not. Smoking can also affects other people sitting in that company because passive smoking is more dangerous than active smoking. Passive smoking is more perilous because the direct smoke is coming from it by inhaling to lungs but, in active smoking smoke is filtered first by the filter in cigarette and then it goes in the lungs of smoker. Every government should pay heed to this worldwide issue and prohibit the sale of cigarettes in its country.
In conclusion, first responsibility is of government to take action on this illegal activity because many people are dying every year due to various diseases caused by smoking. Secondly, it is our responsibility to protect ourselves from smoking and avoid bad company where people engage in smoking.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of banning smoking. The ideas are relevant, such as health risks and the impact on society, but they are not fully developed. For instance, the argument about passive smoking is scientifically inaccurate (claiming filtered smoke is safer), which weakens the persuasiveness of the essay. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments lack depth and rely on generalizations. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced reasoning and avoid making claims that are factually questionable, focusing instead on well-established arguments regarding public health and economic burden.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'Smoking can also' and 'Many people also' appear frequently, which makes the flow feel a bit stilted. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, such as the shift from the physical effects of smoking to the social perception of smokers. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas within paragraphs are more tightly connected would significantly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic descriptors like 'serious issues' and 'bad company' multiple times. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'demolish the natural beauty of person' and 'pay heed to this worldwide issue'. While your meaning is clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary (e.g., 'carcinogenic', 'public health policy', 'addictive properties') limits your score. Try to incorporate more precise academic terminology to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('Smoking can also affects'), article usage ('the glow of face'), and awkward phrasing ('according to heath'). Some sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which occasionally forces the reader to pause to understand the intended meaning. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors and practicing complex sentence construction would be beneficial.
