Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth for an academic essay. The inclusion of a bulleted list of slogans is inappropriate for an IELTS Task 2 essay, as it does not constitute formal academic writing or paragraph development. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and logical explanations, ensuring each point is fully explored in complete sentences rather than fragmented lists. The response addresses the prompt but lacks the required length and depth to achieve a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. The introduction is brief, and the body paragraphs are disjointed, relying on a list of slogans rather than cohesive, well-linked paragraphs. There is a lack of logical progression between ideas; for example, the transition from discussing stress to mentioning specific countries is abrupt and confusing. Cohesive devices are largely absent, and the use of bullet points disrupts the flow of the text. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and employ linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your ideas logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'presuare' instead of 'pressure' and 'harm full' instead of 'harmful'. You rely on simple, everyday language that does not demonstrate the range required for higher bands. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'in angry mind' and 'relaxing there min'. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to health and public policy, and practice using synonyms to avoid repetition. Accuracy in spelling and word formation is essential for conveying your ideas clearly and professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'people how are depressed' and 'Goverment have to banned'. Sentence structures are largely simple or fragmented, and there is a lack of complex sentence construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of bullet points and informal formatting. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses and conditional sentences. Proofreading for basic errors like 'there' versus 'their' is also highly recommended.
