Student answer (Band 5.0)
Smoking is hazardous for the health should be banned in the public places, It can cause serious health issues like cancer. It can be harm for the second snokers as they are not doing it but they are breath that contaminated air. cancer is nontretable all time and required more finance also there is no chances of survival after tretments.
In my opinion, government can not banned completely because it can associated with the mental health also, people need time to avoid it .but i would say it can be banned for public places where others can be saved especially kids and pregnant women. Also there will be some penlty for unfollower too. Smoking makes lungs damage and others helth conditions like heart srokes too. Some people getting nausea from the smoking smell. Also it can disturb the pleasent air. Even every manufacturer writting the awareness lable on the smoking products still people buying it and use it . Government has to take some strick steps for the manufacturer also . some strick steps for the supply and demand rules also needed to taken from the government. In education system from the junior K.G to Highschool there will be some awareness programs and workshope for this matters should be organised.
If the people can not stop that immediately they have to give some limits of use per day. also need to take some steps for manufacturer also.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a recognisable position: you oppose a complete ban but support prohibiting smoking in public places, especially to protect children and pregnant women. Relevant reasons include second-hand smoke, cancer, and other health effects. However, the task asks whether smoking should be made illegal, and your answer shifts between banning smoking in public places, restricting daily use, and controlling manufacturers without clearly explaining which policy you ultimately support. Several claims, such as there being “no chances of survival” after cancer treatment, are too absolute and need accurate support. The discussion of mental health and education programmes is also introduced but not developed. The response is 13 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your position. Develop one clear argument for each main point and give a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation: you begin with health risks, then state your opinion, and add possible government measures. This gives the reader a basic sense of the topic and your position. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the shift from health effects to restrictions, manufacturers, education, and daily limits is difficult to follow. Connections between ideas are often abrupt, and repeated use of “also” and “some steps” does not show how points relate. The final sentence repeats the call for action rather than providing a clear conclusion. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and proposed measures. Add precise links such as “Furthermore” or “As a result,” and make sure each paragraph develops one central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “second-hand” (intended in “second snokers”), “mental health,” “manufacturer,” and “awareness label.” These choices show an attempt to discuss health and regulation rather than relying only on general language. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent enough to distract, for example “nontretable,” “penlty,” “helth,” “strick,” and “workshope.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “pleasant air” and “limits of use per day.” Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “passive smoking,” “smoking restrictions,” and “public-health campaign” would help express your ideas clearly and appropriately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both short statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example the sentence explaining that non-smokers breathe contaminated air. This shows some effort to connect ideas, but the range of sentence structures is limited and many sentences contain errors that make the reader work to understand them. Examples include “government can not banned completely,” “it can be harm,” and “there will be some awareness programs … should be organised.” These show problems with verb forms, sentence construction, and agreement. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly where commas join separate sentences. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using “because,” “although,” and “which.” Proofread each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
