Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position in favour of the statement, and your example about a stressed family provider illustrates how smoking may harm both health and dependants. However, the response only partly addresses the central question: it explains why smoking is harmful but does not develop the case for making it illegal or consider why prohibition might be justified. Several claims, such as smoking damaging the kidneys and causing death, are asserted rather than explained or supported. The brief suggestion to relax through family time or outings is relevant, but it is not developed into a clear argument. To strengthen the response, explain how a legal ban could reduce illness and address a counterargument, such as personal choice or enforcement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic progression from your agreement, to health effects, to a family example, and finally to advice. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “For instance” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the long central section moves between stress, illness, hospital treatment, and family consequences without clear steps. Repeated references to smoking being dangerous also interrupt progression. Some links are difficult to follow, particularly “now what is the all family foult,” and the conclusion introduces alternatives without clearly summarising your argument about illegality. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, example, and conclusion, and make each sentence build on the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, relying on words such as “smoking,” “dangerous,” “stress,” and “family.” You do attempt topic-related language, including “cancer,” “lungs,” “kidney,” and “relaxing,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts difficult to understand, for example “aducted,” “realse,” “sness,” and “the smoking died the man.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “smoking is a part of drug” and “play with our life.” Build a more precise range for discussing health and policy, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, distinguish “addicted to nicotine” from “under stress,” and use “a ban on smoking” when discussing the proposed law.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You mainly use simple statements and make some attempts to connect clauses, as in the example beginning “For instance,” but control is limited and errors are frequent. Subject–verb agreement is often incorrect: “they cause cancer” and “smoking infect our lungs” need different verb forms. Articles, plurals, and sentence structure are also problematic, as in “without lungs the person can not survive any more” and “no one is take care of his family.” Several sentences run together, with punctuation that does not clearly separate complete ideas; the opening also begins with a lowercase “yes.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled complex forms using “because,” “although,” and “as a result.” Check verb agreement and sentence boundaries during revision.
