Student answer (Band 5.5)
We know that smoking is the main source of major despiratory disease, due to this fact it should be illegal. I strongly agree with this matter because it causes cancer also hampers our economy, society and future generation.
Initially, Cancer is the another name of death. Because if push a person to reach the door of death slowly. Cigerattes firstly affects our heart and create obstacles on our breathing system. As a result, people face health risks like atsma, concentration break so on. For example, If a person takes each cigerattes daily 8 days reduce from his total longevity. I had a friend called Mahin, who takes 5 cigerattes daily. After continuing 4 years he felt his legs power become less and can not walk fast. He went to a doctor and knew that his legs nerves becomin narrow day by day. Doctor also reported that if he continue smoking so oneday will come he become unable to walk. Then he thought give up from smoking is only one resolution of this issue and gave up very hardly and added some helthy food on his diet. Now he has leading a healthy life.
On the other hand, smoke that comes from cigeratte can cause non-smokers too. Moreover, smokers spend a large amount for purchasing cigerattes that hampers economic status. If a father has habit of smoking, effects of smoking can play role on newborn babies. For instance, New born babies can face potential health risks like respiratory problems. Concequently, smoking create pressure on new generation and also making challanges on their existance. Finally, I remain convinced on health issues and other obstacles which can be introduced in future and giving my opinion on agree side.
In conclusion, Disadvantages of smoking are outweigh than advantages so, I think we all should make awareness on our community and try to demonstrate negative effects of smoking.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that smoking should be illegal, and the response gives relevant reasons involving illness, second-hand smoke, household spending and risks to babies. The personal example about Mahin also helps illustrate the health consequences. However, the argument does not fully develop the central proposal of making smoking illegal: it focuses mainly on harms and awareness, without explaining why prohibition would be effective or addressing possible objections. Some claims, such as each cigarette reducing life by eight days, are presented without support, while the economic and future-generation points receive limited explanation. Develop these ideas more carefully and connect each one directly to the question of legality to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph focuses on personal health, while the second moves to effects on others and the economy, so the reader can follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from cancer to breathing, concentration and a personal anecdote without consistently showing how each point supports the argument. Linking phrases such as “Initially,” “On the other hand” and “Finally” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately. The conclusion also repeats the general position rather than drawing the main reasons together. Use clearer topic sentences and more precise links between claims and examples.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “health risks,” “economic status,” “respiratory problems” and “new generation.” These choices show an effort to discuss health and social consequences, but the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make parts of the argument difficult to interpret. Examples include “despiratory disease,” “Cigerattes,” “atsma,” “longevity” in the cigarette claim, and “legs nerves becomin narrow.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “give up from smoking” and “make awareness on our community.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases. More precise wording would help you explain medical effects and the proposed legal response clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both short statements and attempts at longer sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “Because,” “As a result” and “Moreover.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Cancer is the another name of death” has an article problem, while “if he continue smoking” and “Now he has leading a healthy life” show problems with verb forms. The sentence beginning “Because if push a person” is incomplete, and “smoking create pressure” does not agree in number. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses. Review tense consistency and subject–verb agreement before adding complexity.
