Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You state a clear position—“I am fully agreed” that smoking should be illegal—and give relevant reasons, including health risks, young people smoking, and the role of companies and advertising. These points show that you understand the question and address the issue. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the health effects are repeated rather than explained, and the claims about shopkeepers, companies, and advertising are not supported with specific examples or fuller reasoning. The advice to parents is relevant but does not directly explain how prohibition would work or why it would be effective. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason and connect it explicitly to your view on making smoking illegal.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has separate paragraphs and a broadly recognisable sequence: health concerns, your position, young people, government action, and parental advice. This gives the reader some organisation. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear, and several points recur, particularly that smoking is dangerous and should be banned. Linking phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “And last” are used mechanically, while the relationship between ideas is sometimes unclear—for example, the question about shopkeepers is not followed by a developed explanation. Group related points into focused paragraphs, use clearer references, and make each paragraph advance one distinct reason.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “smoking,” “illegal,” “government,” “companies,” and “advertise,” so the general subject is understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise, and frequent spelling errors make some phrases difficult to interpret, such as “sagreate,” “humman,” and “manfacture.” Expressions such as “smoking things” and “destroy the life” are too vague or unnatural for this topic. Build a more precise range for discussing health and regulation, and check spelling carefully. For example, name the products or actions directly rather than repeatedly using “things,” and use accurate phrases for health consequences and government measures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple patterns, and you attempt some longer constructions, such as “The reason is behind the smoking” and the sentence about companies that provide smoking products. However, these attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “Smoking is also effected,” “I am fully agreed,” and “Government should be act upon.” Several sentences also join ideas without clear grammatical links. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add controlled complex sentences using clauses such as “because” and “which.” Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
