Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view in favour of making smoking illegal, and you mention relevant concerns such as illness, second-hand smoke, young people, and deaths. However, the response addresses the task only partially: these points are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example. The claim that teenagers smoke “for fun and being cool” and that adults smoke to reduce stress could be developed by explaining why these reasons do not justify smoking. Your position also needs a more complete discussion of the proposal to make smoking illegal, including a reasoned explanation of how a ban might help or what difficulties it could create. The response is 59 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a recognisable line of thought: you state your agreement, list harms, and conclude that smoking should be banned. Some ideas are connected with words such as “but,” “because,” and “overall.” However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, and the progression between points is difficult to follow. For example, the discussion moves from teenagers and adults to second-hand smoke, deaths, and then other drugs without clear transitions or explanation. Several sentences run together, making relationships between ideas unclear. Organise the response into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for distinct reasons, and a conclusion. Use linking phrases to show how each example supports your position, rather than relying repeatedly on “and” or “because.”

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “illness,” “addicted,” “stress,” and “harmful,” so the reader can identify your main concerns. However, vocabulary is limited and repeated, particularly “smoking,” “harmful,” and “danger,” and frequent spelling errors make some phrases difficult to understand, such as “laungs,” “curculate,” and “new comig babe.” Some word combinations are also unclear or unnatural, including “huge of people are dying” and “smoke take our life from deep.” Build a more precise range for discussing health effects and public policy, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More accurate phrasing would help your ideas sound clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to express reasons and contrasts, including with “because” and “but,” but most sentences rely on simple structures, and attempts to combine several ideas often become difficult to follow. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation are frequent: for example, “yes, i agree smoking can cause serious illness and it could be made illegal.overall” joins separate ideas without appropriate capitalisation or punctuation. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “some of know it is harmfull our laungs” and “adults people know about the it cause.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning unclear. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add a few accurately controlled complex sentences using “although,” “because,” or “which.”
