Student answer (Band 5.5)

Smoking is a serious issue that can damage your lungs and it shoul be made strictly prohibited in public place. I am totally agree with this that smoking should be made illegal and government need to take a strict actions aginst this serious issue.

The first thing from where a person start smoking is from bad gathering and from thier parents. Those people that smoke didnot even imagine how much it is dangrous for human health, even though actice smoking is more dangrous than a passive smoking. Similarly these chain smoker have no ethics of smoking in public places and in homes. For instance a research carried out at University of Munster shows that person who smoke only for one time deplete seven minutes of thir life. Although they peoples knows what level of poision they inject in her own body, lung, skin blood and mouth cancer start. Parents who are addicted they need to take some precuations from medical rehablitation or hospitals. If they didnot took these precuations on a serious note thir own life and family become detroyed.

The government bodies need to develope some new rules that are strict for those that just at the initial stage of smoking. These organisations put posters on public places near educational institues to initiate awarness in public. Shops near educational institutions are not allowed to put these type of products in thier catalog. Similarly volunteers, need to take part in this serious problem, as they make awarness compaigns in Universities, Colleges to protect our youth from smoking. Pods and other elctronic gadgets strictly banned in corporate office. For example a recent research in famous German hospital reveals that person who consume hundred millimeter of nicotine every day have alarming disease in their lungs call popcorn disease in thier lungs.

In conclusion, I am totally agree that smoking is very injurous for human health, if govermant bodies take some action and make compaigns in televisions ads, in public this harmfull product deplete from our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that smoking should be prohibited, and you give relevant reasons involving health risks, second-hand smoke, young people, and government action. The examples about public places and educational institutions help connect your ideas to the topic. However, the response only partly addresses the central proposal to make smoking illegal: much of the discussion shifts to awareness campaigns, treatment, and restrictions on sales or smoking in particular places, without explaining whether a complete legal ban is practical or what its consequences might be. Several claims, such as the research figures, are asserted rather than explained. Develop two or three main reasons more fully and link each directly to your position on illegality.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate health effects from proposed government measures, and connectors such as “For instance,” “Similarly,” and “In conclusion” show attempts to guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from causes of smoking to passive smoking, a research claim, cancer, and rehabilitation without clear links. Some transitions, including “Similarly,” do not show a precise relationship between the ideas that follow. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one clear controlling point, ordering supporting details logically, and using pronouns and linking phrases that make the relationships between claims explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-specific vocabulary, including “passive smoking,” “chain smoker,” “medical rehabilitation,” and “educational institutions,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some effort to vary wording rather than relying entirely on basic terms. However, the range is limited and many spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the message difficult to understand, such as “develope,” “poision,” “deplete from our life,” and “make awarness compaigns.” Some expressions are also imprecise, including “hundred millimeter of nicotine” and “popcorn disease in their lungs.” Check spelling carefully and choose natural collocations; use precise, verifiable terms when describing health effects or evidence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You try to use both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “Although” and “If,” and you attempt to explain causes and consequences. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences hard to follow. Examples include “I am totally agree,” “government need to take a strict actions,” and “If they didnot took these precuations,” where verb forms, agreement, or sentence construction are faulty. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “in public place” and “a person who smoke.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation before adding more complex clauses.
