Student answer (Band 6.0)
Smoking is a serious problem that causes severe issues, and must be illegal. I strongly agree with this statement because smoking can lead to cancer, and it can also affect other people's life. Secondly, smoking also has a bad effect on the harmones of the human body.
Smoking can lead to cancer, and also if one person is smoking vape or cigarettes it will also effects the other person health who is sitting beside them. Nowadays, people really do not care about themselves and they smoke 5 to 6 cigarettes each day. Due to regular use of these products people face serious illness such as throat cancer, tongue cancer and lung cancer etc. For instance, recent study has shown that 40 percent of people face cancer due to regular use of smoking products.
On the other hand, smoking has a substantial amount of effect on the hormones of human being speacially men, because men smoke more. Furthermore, the main affect is that they will face difficulties in conceiving a child. Moreover, if they stop using cigarettes they have to follow various kind of treatments, so that they can conceive a child but still it totattly depends on there health that how much they consume smoke each day. These issues are increasing on a daily basis. For instance, according to World Health Organization tobacoo significantly reduces fertility rates in both men and women.
In conclusion, I strongly beleive that tobacoo can cause serious health issues in both men and women and should be considered illegal in all countries. Because smoking is causing cancer and also reducing the fertility rates in both men and women.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening and conclusion: you strongly agree that smoking should be illegal. You address serious illness through cancer and second-hand exposure, and add fertility as a further consequence, so the response covers the task and gives relevant examples. The reference to WHO supports the fertility point, while the cancer statistic is also intended as evidence. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained: the link between smoking and hormones, for example, is not clearly established, and the discussion of treatment and conception is difficult to follow. To strengthen the argument further, explain how each example supports making smoking illegal and develop the consequences more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present health arguments, and a conclusion restates your position. Signposting such as “Secondly,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main points. However, some connections feel mechanical or unclear. “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the paragraph adds another reason to agree, and the sequence from stopping smoking to fertility treatment is hard to track. References such as “these products” and “these issues” could also be more precise. Use transitions that show the actual relationship between ideas, and organise each body paragraph around one clearly explained claim and its supporting example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “second-hand” ideas, “cancer,” “fertility rates,” and “illegal,” and some choices such as “substantial” show an attempt to use more formal language. However, word choice, spelling, and collocation errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “harmones,” “speacially,” “totattly,” and “tobacoo”; “the main affect” also uses the wrong word form. Phrases such as “face cancer” and “consume smoke” are not natural English collocations. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships for health effects, such as “develop cancer” and “smoke cigarettes.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “if,” and “that,” and the main message is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “it will also effects” should use the base verb after “will,” while “other people's life” needs a plural noun. The long sentence beginning “Moreover, if they stop using cigarettes” becomes difficult to follow because its clauses are not controlled clearly. The final sentence beginning “Because” is also a fragment when separated from the preceding sentence. Practise checking subject–verb patterns and breaking long explanations into complete, well-punctuated sentences.
