Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position—“i totally agree”—and give relevant reasons by mentioning smoking-related illness and children using cigarettes. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain why making smoking illegal would be effective or discuss possible objections, such as personal freedom or enforcement. The claims that smoking “kill[s] the person” and that many people are affected by cancer are not developed with explanation or a specific example. The response is also 153 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the argument. To strengthen it, explain each reason, support it with a relevant example, and address the extent of your agreement throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic line of thought: you give your opinion, describe health effects, and then mention government action and children. This provides some organisation, but the ideas are compressed into a few loosely connected sentences, with no clear paragraph structure or developed progression. Repetition of “nowadays” and repeated references to smoking do not show how one point leads to the next. Several ideas run together, as in “smoking kill the person and it effect the humans helth,” making relationships between claims harder to follow. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and connect points with clear links such as “Furthermore” or “For example.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “smoking,” “illegal,” “cancer,” and “health problems,” so the general subject is understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise, which limits how clearly you can express the argument. Phrases such as “using that like normal” and “using a smoke” are not natural ways to describe smoking, while “seriouse,” “helth,” and “seriouseness” contain spelling or word-form errors. Build a more accurate range for discussing policy and health, and check spelling carefully. For example, you could refer to “tobacco use,” “smoking-related diseases,” and “a legal ban” rather than repeating “smoking” and “illegal.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your response mainly uses simple statements, and there is an attempt to express a reason and result, for example, “if government should be illegal on this product they can save many human live.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or joined without appropriate punctuation, and errors in verb forms and agreement occur in “smoking kill the person” and “it effect the humans.” The opening also lacks clear sentence boundaries, making the position difficult to read smoothly. These problems sometimes obscure the intended relationships between ideas. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “if”; check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation in each sentence.
