The line graph depicts the quantity of visitors who visited caryl island for the first time and returning visitors from 2000 to 2008. It is quite evident that the returning visitors are higher than the first time vistor even if their is a decrement between the eight years.

In addition, the growth of returning visitors was 3000 in the year of 2000 which is went up more than thrice to 10000 in between two years. Moreover, first time visitors have steady growth started in the year 2002 have 4000 visitors which was increased by three times with 12000 in the year 2008. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, identifying the trends for both visitor types. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, the statement that returning visitors were 'higher than the first time visitor' is a good overview, but the specific data points are sometimes confusingly presented, such as the claim that first-time visitors 'rapidly decreased by 4000 in 2002' when the graph shows a drop to 4000. The summary lacks a clear, cohesive synthesis of the data, and some figures are described in a way that makes the timeline difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, ensure that data points are accurately linked to the correct years and trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into two paragraphs, which is appropriate for a short report. There is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'Whereas'. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. For example, the transition 'which is went up more than thrice' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the logical progression of the sentence. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could be improved by grouping the data more logically—perhaps by comparing the two categories throughout the period rather than describing them in separate, disjointed blocks.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks precision and variety. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'visitors' and 'year'. The student attempts to use some descriptive language, such as 'decrement', 'rapidly', and 'thrice', but these are sometimes used incorrectly or in unnatural collocations (e.g., 'which is went up'). There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'first time vistor' (singular instead of plural) and 'decrement' (which is a formal term often used in technical contexts rather than describing a trend). Expanding the range of synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the visitors who visited from the first time... was 8000' (subject-verb agreement error), 'which is went up' (incorrect verb tense/passive construction), and 'started in the year 2002 have 4000 visitors' (missing relative pronoun or auxiliary verb). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels clunky. To improve, the student should focus on basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that verb tenses are used consistently when describing past data.
