Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you have identified the main trends, the overview is confusing and contains contradictory information regarding the visitor categories. For instance, you state that first-time visitors declined after an upward trend, but the data shows a different pattern. The description of the data is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision in reporting figures, such as the vague mention of 'more than 14000'. To improve, ensure your overview clearly distinguishes between the two groups and provides accurate, comparative data points throughout the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is hindered by unclear referencing and confusing sentence structures. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the abrupt transition 'Secondly'. The overview paragraph is particularly problematic as it fails to clearly summarise the main trends, making it difficult for the reader to follow the development of your ideas. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will help improve the flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive. You frequently use the same phrases, such as 'experienced an upward trend' and 'visitors', which limits the range of your language. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'recorded highest about more than 14000', which is not standard academic phrasing. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate a wider variety of synonyms and more precise collocations to describe trends and data points. Focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary to describe fluctuations and stability.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'first time visitors recorded declined after experienced an upward trend' and 'slight declined'. These errors in verb tense and word form are noticeable throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent verb tense usage when describing past data.
